Amirandes, A Grecotel Resort to Live

Advantages:1. The personnel all were very friendly from the lobby till the cleaning lady trying to solve all your problems 2. Minimalistic architecture give the space to breath very beautiful decorations Disadvantages: 1. Please don’t go to the restaurants of this hotel overpriced and the food sucks for two person 200 euros for a food that cost less than 20. 2. Rooms we’re comfortable but overpriced for the things that offered.

The hotel deserves 5*s for the location, the architecture, the design, the service , the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. We did not make use of the huge fitness offers, so that cannot be judged here. Location is quite convenient for sightseeing tours. Bus stop is not far, but you are way better off with a rental car. The pool is just fantastic, as long as you don‘t go in! The water is not heated and awfully cold ; life guard said : 20 degrees. The sea is much warmer. This is a nogo in mid-October. What in Winter? The tiny indoor pool is no valid alternative. Reception told me that hotel is fully booked (200 plus rooms) , but very very few people iin the water! No wonder. We won‘t be back for sure until we read that pool is heated. Second minus is the food. Buffet area is a bit Small and thus crowded and the food is a not greek enough to our taste. Choice of food is however quite good.

This is my favourite hotel experience in a very long time. From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble for the staff of the Amirandes. The hotel itself is beautifully landscaped, with plenty of sun beds and areas to go. Lots of activities to get involved in, if you want, or, simply relaxing to the sound of the sea washing in and out. The buffet food was excellent - and for someone that normally tires quickly of eating buffet food, they changed the menu enough every day that there was always something new and delicious. Considering that we were there out of season, we were very lucky with the weather, the hotel was at almost full capacity, and there were ALWAYS plenty of staff around. We didn't have to wait to be seated, or for drinks. Our villa was extraordinary, there was even a gym in the room; which I will admit we did not use. An inside and outside shower. House keeping were marvellous. There were treats left in our room. One night we went for dinner in one of the ala carte restaurants, and when we didn't eat all of our dessert, I asked if we could take it with us. Initially, I thought this must have been forgotten, but ACTUALLY what had happened, is that the manager had sent us two additional desserts, which we found on the table in our room when we returned for the evening. This is the level of customer service that this hotel offered. I cannot thank them enough - I will definitely be returning. I will end saying a couple of things; if you are a solo traveller - looking for some R&R in a place that is friendly and where you wouldn't feel out of place as a solo traveller - this is a great shout. The hotel itself is exquisite, beautifully manicured and feels luxurious. The beds are really comfortable, I want to know what the pillows are that they use, as they also were just, luxury. You are left unbothered by the staff but also attended to

The holidays here are great as always, my parents and I enjoy every day here. The resort is just beautiful with the nice views, the great food and the nice people working here, who are always available if you need sth. I have to mention Kostas (the sports instructor) once again, cause of his great efforts and professional work. He manages to connect people through sports with his open way of being. He makes holidays much more enjoyable for people like me who like to do sports. We will for sure come back next year!

Americans -** fascinating exotic INCREDIBLE 5 star undeniably amazing. This is an excellent but very expensive property and the dining options are impeccable. We have traveled as Hyatt globalists and by far--- this could be the best we think this could be the best in CRETE. Bravo! Eleni in the dining management is stellar. Incredible. The sushi restaurant- do it. Do the half board option and for sure -- the drink option. Hands down. Love the fact very few Americans- even though I am American. Have them arrange for your transfer from airport. This is an immaculate property. Get the private pool and I think garden view for a more private.
