The manor is located on the banks of the Douro River, with beautiful scenery, and every corner is a good place to enjoy the river view. The guest rooms and facilities are built according to the terrain, which is even more beautiful. Whether it is the service staff or the room, I feel comfortable. We went as two families of four with teenagers. Two of us had the tasting menu and wine flight and the rest had the daily menu. It was really great food, very flavoursome and true to the region. The wine was excellent. We at on the terrace overlooking Douro with a lovely light mist of water to keep us cool. The staff were spot on. We were there for a few hours and it was a real treat and highly recommended. We’d love to go back.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights to visit the Duoro Valley. The room was a good size, comfortable and modern. We had a little patio area outside our room with an incredible view. So peaceful! We ate dinner there both nights, tried both the full restaurant and Tim's Terrace, both great.

I took the train up from Porto to stay at La Quinta de la Rosa. I didn’t have big expectations, and had mainly booked the place because it had river-view rooms and a pool. I was honestly surprised by the level of hospitality because I was expecting something more like agriturismo rather than a resort. But there are a ton of staff, two restaurants, A.C., and a nice wine tour. I could see how all the stairs could be problematic for some people. I was charmed by the family story, apparently the estate was a christening present given to the grandmother of the current owner. There is something really lovely about crafting this relaxing hospitable place out of such a gift, with the current owner living in the gardens and fields her grandmother loved. Of course, there is tremendous privilege there, but also a sense of stewardship and willingness to share the families’ good fortune.

Food was excellent, dinner was great, service was good, breakfast good, wine tour informative. Swimming pool was nice. Service in reception friendly and helpful. The dinner experience is not exceptional, but very good. We had a room with a view over the river, it was perfect. Room was clean and beds comfortable for me, my wife felt they were a bit too stiff. I would recommend a visit with the whole experience, hotel, wine tasting, dining and a quick trip to the swimming pool. We had a wonderful time.

We travelled from Porto by train on a day trip. I would highly recommend as the scenery for half the trip is excellent as the train track travels alongside the river Douro. We took lunch on Tims terrace before the organised wine/port tour and tasting. The whole experience was excellent, faultless and memorable as part of our city break holiday. Thank you for a great experience.

This review is about the winery, not the rooms. Some very good wines. We were told explicitly about this winery when in a wine shop in Porto, so we visited. A tour is part of the wine tasting experience, and a reservation was required, specific to your language. We enjoyed a rose, tinto (red) and a couple of ports. Nice tour by Patricia and her student. All the wines offered were very good to excellent for the port wines. Wine pricing a bit dear for the Douro but a gret experience all the same. This winery is also known for excellent port wines. Not super easy to find by carb because Google Maps has us drive a long way round tto get to the winery, and when we found it, it was off to the let on a local small road. After passing it, Maps guided us back. Parking is a little tight.
