The manor is located on the banks of the Douro River, with beautiful scenery, and every corner is a good place to enjoy the river view. The guest rooms and facilities are built according to the terrain, which is even more beautiful. Whether it is the service staff or the room, I feel comfortable. We were lucky enough to score a tour and tasting the day we arrived in Pinhão (it is much smarter to book ahead!). The tour with Marta was really relaxed and interesting. She is very knowledgeable about the winery and the processes, and was able to answer lots of hard questions! The tasting of one red, one rose, and two ports was outstanding! Lovely wines, beautiful spot to taste, and overall a great experience in the Douro Valley.

This winery is uphill a little bit from the Duoro river so the view across the river is wonderful. The tour was very informative and covered the basics of picking, selecting, and crushing the grapes. Also she discussed the aging process and weather during different vintages. The tour discussed both table wine and port. The tasting was in a large room with a table and chairs and included 2 table wines and two ports. The Portuguese are not skimpy with the pours either. The tour lasted a little over an hour which was advertised but no one was rushed to leave. This winery also rooms for overnight guests and a well-regarded restaurant. There were about ten of us on the tour.

We did the Private Tour and Premium Wine Tasting experience at Quinta de la Rosa. The tour started at 9:00 am and we finished just before noon. It was a hot summer day, and the early start saved us from the hot sun. We both work in the wine industry abroad. We found the tour fascinating and we both learnt a lot about viticulture and winemaking in the Douro region during this visit. The tour included a private tour of the lagares, the winemaking facilities and the cellars for both their dry wines and ports. This was followed by a private guided visit through the steeply terraced Vale do Inferno vineyard. The path was well maintained and it was easy to walk. The wine tasting was conducted in a air-conditioned private room overlooking the vineyards and the river, and we tried six premium wines (one white, two reds, a tawny and two vintage ports). Our guide, Marta, was so friendly and knowledgeable, and she made our visit very special. High recommended.

We had a great port and wine tasting with cellar/production visit at Quinta de la Rosa. Our guid was really nice and knowledgeable about the house and the history of the area. The tour ended with a tasting of rose, red wine and two ports to a stunning view over the Douro river. Will really recommend this experience. Best Regards Tommy

Can't tell you how disappointed we are with this hotel. The staff aren't very helpful. This hotel is on a hill. No elevators. We were put on the 2nd floor with the narrowest steps. I suffer from vertigo and this room is the worst. It's on a bit of a slant. Also the shower is extremely slippery. The plastic on the side of the shower door came off. For the money we paid, I would never ever stay here again. I think the restaurant reservations are a gimmick. There were plenty of tables available even though it said it was full with a waitlist. No cutlery offered. Just overall unfriendly and can't wait to check out. The area is beautiful but would definitely find a better place to stay.
