Harmony Inn

We recently booked a stay at Harmony Inn for one of our representatives traveling for work. Unfortunately, the experience was far below acceptable standards, and we feel it’s important to share the concerns raised: Unclean Conditions: The bedsheets appeared dirty on one side (photo attached), which immediately raised sanitation concerns. Safety Issues: The surrounding area did not feel safe, with a noticeable presence of individuals experiencing homelessness and substance use. Our employee felt unsafe staying in the room alone. Security Concerns: The room door was faulty and did not function properly. Even the owner was unable to open it using the master key and had to physically force the door open. This raised serious concerns about the security of personal belongings. Pest Presence: Insects were also found in the room, adding to the discomfort and lack of hygiene. Unprofessional Staff Conduct: When our representative brought up these concerns to the front desk, the staff became hostile and reportedly started yelling at her. This behavior is unacceptable and highly unprofessional. Given these issues, we do not recommend Harmony Inn for business travelers or anyone seeking a safe, clean, and respectful accommodation experience. We hope management takes these concerns seriously and implements the necessary improvements.

Positives: 1. Parking in front of my room 125. All rooms seem to have the same situation. 2. 100% Blackout curtains that hung properly! 3. The Surfaces and drawers were very clean as was the sink, toilet, and tub I think, although the lighting was not that bright in there. 4. The refrigerator has a freezer. I liked that so I could keep my ice packs frozen. 5. The window air conditioner worked well. 6. No carpet. 7. The woman owner was very nice. Negatives: 1. This, for me is big, the floors were black! Before I walk into a room, even in socked feet, I take a wet wipe to the bathroom floor. It was absolutely disgusting. I don't know if the cleaner is not using a clean mop. But it's more like she is not mopping at all. My feet didn't touch the floor at all. When I say that I had to bleach my white sandals I am not kidding. 2. The mattress seemed a little lumpy. I took the sheet off to see. It had 4 or 5 protectors on it not including the one that totally encased the mattress. Hmmm 3. The reason I will not return... I had misplaced a thumb drive. I called the day after I checked out. The gentleman answered and I asked him and I barely had it out of my mouth and he said a one-word, resounding, NO! I said are you sure? Its blue. He said nothing else but NO. Nothing else. No niceties. Just hung up. I know there is a language barrier, but that was rude. I am not hard to please. Be nice, clean, and comfortable bed, clean floors and toilet and sinks ... basic stuff. If you want me to treat your property, which I do, with respect, then hold up your end.

Rooms were comfortable and basic but perfect for our one night in the area. Beds were a bit in the firm side but some of us didn’t mind that while others found them too hard. Just personal preference. The Inn has laundry machines available which was a great amenity!

Only one issue, bed was very high! I'm older, and it made it difficult during the night.

I forgot my phone charger, and when I called that I am coming to get it, they said they didn't see it. If they can take ordinary phone charger , there is the possibility they can steal something bigger

This was a great place to stay. The room was big enough and had everything we needed including fridge and microwave. There was a large flat screen tv and the bathroom seemed to have been renovated recently. The water was hot and the pressure great! The bed was comfortable and the entire room was clean. There were a couple of chairs and a table on the small seating area in front of our room but it was too cold to sit outside. The hotel is close to downtown Goderich as well as the beach. We were greeted with two bottles of water and two cans of cola. Great spot and would definitely recommend .
