A quaint and clean hostel for an early start to the hike in Pen y Fan!
For singles, couples or a group of friends.
Just be early if you want to enjoy the dinner there else be sure to pack your snacks up there.

Quite remote. Staff gave us free left over curry which was very nice. Beverage options are vast. About a 30 minute drive from pen y fan. Only had WiFi in the main rooms though. No signal or WiFi in the room we were in. We only stayed for one night so it didn’t matter for us. cheap and cheerful.

Not many YHA’s seem to be available in the Winter which is such a shame but the Brecons Beacon YHA is and for any of you luckily enough to stay there, yogi will not be dissapointed. Beautiful surroundings, friendly ideally located. Thank goodness for Winter YHA’s

We turned up to a very warm welcome. The staff were accomodating and the whole place felt homely. This particular YHA (Brecon Beacons) had just reopened after a refurb. And itvwas great to see it was warm and wel oming with a nice fire in the common room. Couldnt ask for any more. Well done YHA for doing what you do. If you are a person who wants silver service and large rooms this isnt the place for you. However if you are looking for a friendly people, warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, meeting like minded people, amazing staff, always in the ideal setting for exploring then this is the place for you.

Great but please YHA allow an earlier check-in
We stayed on a cold Sat & Sun night in December. Very warm and comfortable place. Typical hostel. Can't speak for the meals as we self catered and used the pub in Lebanus (very friendly and good food). Only gripe at the hostel is the 5pm check-in. This is too late in winter. It's dark and icy.

Its not the best, but it has the best location! just keep in mind its a bit rudimantary. Will definitly come back

Great stay in beautiful surroundings
This was such a find! Stayed one night with friends in a private room while we hiked in the Brecon Beacons and it was perfect for what we needed. Perks included - plenty of drying rooms (it rained the whole time we were there so this was very much needed!), restaurant and bar, cosy lounge with fire and board games, and a sink in the room. Easy to find, plenty of parking, and great location. If I'm in the area again I will definitely come back.

A lovely cosy hostel with great walking on the doorstep. Fantastic staff and plenty of communal space. Beds reasonably comfortable for a YH. Hostel generally clean and well-maintained, and good choice of dorms, private rooms and camping. Keen to try the pods next!
