"This was truly one if the coolest places we've ever stayed! The grand entrance when driving up a tree-lined lane already had us excited when we arrived after a weary day of travel. Our whole family (my husband, myself and 2 teenage daughters) appreciated the architecture and the history of the property. We took a little walk down to the boathouse and a long bike ride with bikes provided by the innkeepers. If it had been warmer we would've loved to take the kayaks out or enjoy the firepits, but we were visiting during an unusual spring snow. We loved the coffee/tea room service first thing in the morning and the beautiful breakfast in the sunroom. We enjoyed the gas fireplace in the Elizabeth Lewis room. This inn is a true hidden gem and it was a definite highlight of our vacation to Virginia!"
