Cute property. Unique rooms, brings you back to the 70's. Bed was very comfortable. Rooms are small but we knew that ahead of time. My only complaint was the porch light that shined into our room all night. Recommend turning off or installing some room darkening shades. Other than that, we would stay again. Cute place!

If you are looking for a corporate chain hotel, do not stay here. If you are looking for a wonderfully quaint. perfectly located, super clean and cozy inn then without a doubt stay here! The room was super comfortable and clean with nice amenities. We all loved the well-stocked community room. It was so nice to have a separate room to prepare food and make coffee. I heartily recommend the Dune Climb Inn.

Very clean room. The owner was very quick to respond and helpful. Will probably stay here again on my next visit to Glenn arbor. Definitely check out the sunset on the bear dunes overlook, it’s only 7 minutes away.

If you are looking for a great location close to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor, Glen Haven, Empire, Big and Little Glen Lakes , wildlife, and north woods beauty...this is a great place!! The rooms are traditional lacquered pine, super clean, and the hosts are nice and accommodating. The pictures are very representative of the property. We would definitely stay here again!!! Thank you!!!!

Stayed at Unit #7: Joanne's 'Cabin' and it is not a cabin at all. It is behind the check-in area/store and beside the owner's room. Do NOT think this is a stand alone cabin. The walls are paper thin so you hear everything going on in the store. The picture on website is taken with a fish eye lens or something because in reality it is tiny. If the sofa is made out you cannot walk between the fireplace and bed. But the real issue is the bathroom - I am 5'4" 130 pounds and I had to turn sideways to fit between the sink and shower wall to get to the toilet. The sink is so close to the toilet you can turn on the sink while sitting on the toilet. I have never seen a bathroom so tiny and so poorly constructed in my life. To make matters worse the tiny shelf above the sink was right in the way so you could not wash your face in the sink. To brush your teeth you had to tip your head sideways. The other important issue is that it is not a well kept place. It is dirty and furnishings seem to be from the 1970's or before. The owner showed us how the ceiling fan worked and looked up at it and dust is all over it -very disgusting and clearly she did not care. She did not introduce herself to us or ask our names. She was very unprofessional and rude. Others staying there would come to our door with questions and she would be sitting on her couch with windows open and not even get up to help them. One couple locked their key in their room and she opened a drawer outside and looked for the key -all the keys were kept outside??!! What kind of safety is that??!! Everything about this place is strange and very old as if "great aunt Ethel" who can no longer see lives there. This place in no way has a resort feel and is not a cabin. Will never stay there again and will make sure I tell everyone what a dump it is.

My daughter & I stayed here for two days. Can't beat the location -- within 1/2 mile to the Dune Climb and the Sleeping Bear Heritage biking/walking trail is easily accessible. Rooms are small, but clean and well kept. The air conditioner at night blocks the road noise (it's on a main drag). The owner, Debbie, is very knowledgeable and helpful about the area, things to do, and has a nice general "store" where you can pick up items you might have forgotten, etc., as well as bikes to rent and you can buy dune passes from her. Plus she has a great little Shitzu named Logger, who is so friendly and lovable you want to take him home! Internet was kind of iffy at times; had to use my personal hotspot one night to get service.

Duneswood Resort is clearly a labor of love for its owner. Her care and attention is seen in every aspect of the building, grounds, amenities, and maintenance. The motel itself is a throwback and must require back-breaking effort to keep in shape, but the fact that it is vintage, simple, and built of real wood gives it tons of charm. So cosy! Each room has its own custom-designed theme, and the collection of art and artifacts is amazing. Common spaces, indoors and outdoors, are convenient and very comfortable, especially the common room/kitchen, which is stuffed with rainy day distractions. The place is white-glove clean, and the beds are very comfortable. Our family has stayed twice and loved it both times. Very close to North Bar Lake (offering both an inland lake and Lake Michigan beaches!), hiking trails, and minutes away from a grocery store. Do visit.

Great location. Great amenities like borrowing bikes and having a common room available for use (stove, dishes, utensils, etc.). Perfect location to dunes.
