Aaranya Resort

We were at Aaranya with five friends and their families. There are six rooms. So practically whole place was for us for a day and a half. That made the place more comfortable. The rooms are well designed and spacious. The settings is amongst mango farms, rooms spaced out between the large trees. The food served by the owner was delicious, largely local cuisine. The pool is a large tank. Not clean enough. On the whole good relaxing getaway.

Great pool, great food, great service, nice friendly people (staff), comfortable bedrooms. I loved how friendly the hosts were to send one of their staff to each of my safaris in Gir national park. Plus, they had good animal spotting skills. Aranya is totally worth the visit! I highly recommend it to other travelers who want to visit Gir national park there in Gujarat.

We were five friends with our family on a weekend vacation to Gir Aaranya Resort. The place is a little in the interior from the main Sasan-Talala road. That is good part. Keeps the noise away. We were welcomed by the owner Dhanjibhai. He is young and enthusiastic. He ***** with his three staff & cook were doing all they could to make our stay pleasant. The place has a nice feel to it. The rooms are laid out such that one can enjoy the mango farm and at the same time get some privacy. The large dining hall-cum-office is a good hang out space in the farm. There are ample numbers of swings and outdoor seating arrangement to make your own little space. That said, the places needs some revamping. Even with the best of intentions, Dhanjibhai and his team are simply not able to cope up. The resort though well designed and conceptualised is now in need of some good quality management and housekeeping. The rooms were not particularly well cleaned. Bath fixtures have started to come loose. Swimming pool was not cleaned; so we didnt use that facility at all. Add to that, there are resorts coming up practically in every mango farm. Some are in planning stage and some under construction. There are almost four resorts coming up in the vicinity. So in some time, I fear, there is going to be crowd and therefore, the peace and quite of being in a forest may be lost. All rooms are same; placed linear ***** the edge of the farm. The food served was good regular Kathiawadi fare. ON the whole, we enjoyed our stay. I recommend this place.
