Room is basic but nice, can be a bit noisy when people around are talking or when dogs at night are barking because of the bamboo separation and ceiling.

I’m sorry but this was among my least favorite hostels after 2 months traveling Asia. I ended up leaving early. Here’s why: - There are 4-5 super aggressive dogs in this hostel who love to bark like mad at literally anything all the way up to 3AM each night and again at 9AM the next morning. If you have the room on the bottom floor like I did you’ll 100% be woken by them 6-7 times throughout the night even with ear plugs. - This was the least comfortable bed of my whole trip, you can feel the wooden frame through it and my back was hurting each morning. - If you’re over 6 foot tall you will not fit in these beds. - There is NO toilet paper in this hostel. Another first for me during this trip. This was the final straw for me. - Wifi does not work in the rooms at all. - No hot water in the showers. Ever. - Absolutely zero social atmosphere. Plenty of locals chatting loudly with the owners at 8AM each day though, fun wakeup call. - Bathrooms and showers are super low quality, the shower on my Coron expedition tour felt nicer. I regret having spent money for this and hope I can convince others to avoid my mistakes.

Before you know it, you'll be swapping stories and becoming BFFs with everyone staying there. It's like a melting pot of fun-loving adventurers, and you're the secret ingredient! 🥘🎉 Ready to hang ten? Surf lessons are offered at a reasonable price, where you'll meet Bubong and Darnell, the raddest surf instructors on this side of the planet. These guys will have you catching waves like a pro in no time. 🏄‍♀️ Wednesday nights are an absolute treat with the Sinag family dinner. Everyone chips in, cooking up a storm in the communal kitchen or bringing tasty treats from outside. It's a smorgasbord of flavors, laughter, and unforgettable memories. 🍽️😄 If you're lucky enough to snag a room at this bodacious hostel, don't think twice. Dive in headfirst and ride the wave of adventure at Sinag Hostel! 🌊🤙

Lovely people- from the owner to the staffs! They do family dinners every Wednesday where you have to bring what you can share to everybody. You get to experience to eat Pinoy style! Initially booked 3 days but ended up staying for 11 nights because of the community! Comfort & security - I stayed in the fan dorm and was able to get proper sleep during my stay. The beds are comfy enough and they have curtains for privacy. They also have lockers that you can use - just bring your own lock! The room gets hot sometimes during the day as some of the big fans aren’t working but they assure that they’ll get it fixed. Location - Love that this hostel is located far enough (10-15min by scooter) from the hustle and bustle of General Luna. The hostel is also walking distance to the famous Sunset Bridge in Catangnan area which makes it easy to catch the sunset even if you don’t have a scooter. Facilities - good for a hostel! They have shared toilets & bathrooms. They also have common areas in the first & second floor where you can just hang out and even nap during the afternoon. They have 5 dogs & a cat so please expect to see fur everywhere. Internet connection - the best in Siargao!!! I work at nights and never experienced any problems with the connectivity. During the day, the wifi is fast enough but don’t expect to have a connection inside the dorms Best to use when you’re in the common area. Smart is also faster if you’ll use your data! Really had a lovely stay and good time at Sinag! Will definitely book again soon! 🤙🏽
