I had booked this hotel for a special occasion and was looking forward to the ‘freien Blick auf den See’ (uninterrupted view of the lake) from an upper level. Our room, although lovely, was probably a level too low and there was a house that interrupted a view. This may seem petty, but was a small pity for us. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom big and lovely. We appreciate a separate toilet. The furnishings were modern and appealing. The lift and bathroom near the restaurant need to be seen .. quirkily wonderful. The rooftop pool, although small is especially wonderful if you manage to be there at a time with only a few people. The outlook is very special. The sauna and quiet area are lovely too. Parking is a little tricky but the staff are very helpful in explaining how it works and we were lucky to always find a spot across the road. We would definitely stay here again but just ask for a room higher up.

Let me start with the one negative. There is no air conditioning. For much of the year this is likely not a problem, but in the dead of summer, and with rising temperatures, it can become uncomfortably hot. That out of the way, everything else was perfect. Traunkirschen is among the smaller towns on Traunsee, and unlike Gmunden to the north, there is very little there. But that tranquility is precisely its charm. The hotel is right on the lake, with stunning water and mountain views, There’s a small swimming inlet, and nearby you can rent motorboats (a highly recommended activity—not too expensive, and no rowing required!). And while the village itself is tiny, it's conveniently close to several other places of interest including the Feuerkogel cable car (absolutely worth doing), the spa town of Bad Ischl, Gmunden, and other lakes in the area. The rooms are large and while not fancy, are well appointed, with comfortable beds and bedding and a nice rain shower in the bathroom (again, the one negative being the lack of a/c). Breakfast was out of this world, top quality and HUGE selection. I don't think I have ever had a nicer hotel breakfast experience. There is also a spa on the top floor with a swimming pool (with lovely views and a jacuzzi function), sauna, and lounging chairs. It is all included! Finally the staff, which I feel is what can make or break a hotel experience, was truly nice and helpful, without exception. Would I recommend this hotel? Without hesitation. Unless you want to be in a big town with hustle and bustle, or air conditioning is a non-negotiable this is one of the most charming places I have stayed at, and though expensive, worth every penny.

What an amazing place and the hotel and surroundings fully lived up to our expectations. It was a great experience from the check-in to we left with an amazing Spa area and pool with bubbles. Our room was absolutely gorgeous and we had such a nice stay. Restaurant was also an experience and the staff was so extremely friendly and the service was top-notch. We will give our warmest recommendation to everyone who wants to relax and enjoy. Thanks, Post am see .. we’ll be back :-)

I have just returned home after a wonderful stay at the Hotel Post. The staff were fantastic a real credit to the hotel, nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant is delicious, the wine list is extensive, and there was a great variety on offer for breakfast. The bedroom decor is extremely stylish, and the bed was as comfortable as my one at home. I look forward to returning next year.

Amazing hotel in the heart of the beautiful Austrian lake Traunsee. The recently brand-new renovated, it is absolute stunning in terms of high-end design, spa and room ambience. The spa has a pool with a view on the mountains and lake. The reception team is very friendly, very professional. The hotel also has trendy bar on the first floor. So overall, I do highly recommend for a romantic trip as well as for a solo gateway - its the best combination of everything! Loved it!

Lovely hotel on the stunning Traunersee Great welcome, lovely room, and nice restaurant. The hotel has been recently renovated and so everything is very modern and smart. Some work is still going on but we experienced no disruption or problems . We arrived on a bicycle tour and they have very good secure storage for bikes .

The hotel was nice. Room was ok. Dinner and breakfast was exceptional. However the big frontdesk lady ruined our experience. She was really unfriendly to me and my friends and we tried to be as polite as possible. Fire this lady and get 5*.

Idyllic & Charming Hotel located directly in front of lake Traunsee with a majestic view onto the surrounding Salzkammergut mountains with exceptional FRIENDLY breakfast & restaurant service. We enjoyed every minute during our stay

Excellent location in the heart of the village. Amazing food and especially the vegetarian option. Would recommend staying here and we would love to go back again. The day was beautiful and we hired a little boat and had a swim on the lake. We cycled here and that was beautiful.

Lovely hotel, great rooms, great toiletries, great views, great breakfast and an excellent restaurant in the premises. It is located at a small bay of the lake, you can walk around and visit churches, do some hiking, just a beautiful relaxing place!

Wir haben in diesen 3 Tagen so viel Urlaubsgefühl in uns aufgenommen, wunderbares Essen genossen. Der Blick auf den See und die Berge dahinter ist einfach einmalig. Wir haben mit unseren Kindern eine 1-stündige Bootsfahrt gemacht und sind danach noch im See geschwommen.

Wir haben gerade ein paar wunderbare Tage im Hotel Post am See verbracht. Alles perfekt ….sehr freundliches Personal, tolles Ambiente, schöne Zimmer und sehr gutes Essen in den hoteleigenen Restaurants. Toller Rooftop-Spa mit schöner Aussicht auf den Traunsee (Äpfel und Tee/Wasser werden kostenlos angeboten). Zum Parken kann man den nahegelegenen Hotelparkplatz nutzen (gegen Gebühr). Das Frühstück (tolles Angebot) genießt man in der stilvoll eingerichteten Beletage im ersten Stock.
