"Great appartment, very spacious and luxurious. Breakfast had a broad selection and a benifit was there is an indoor pool as well as a sauna-area! Great after a day of hiking/mbt in Ischgl/Kappl and off course Galtür"

"I ski, therefore I am. I’ve had the joy to stay at countless top hotels in Austria (check out my past reviews) and this one is right up there with them. Location can’t be beaten for skiing, barely a stumble from the ski room to the lift. Great staff, lovely food, and splendid wine menu. Perhaps getting a little old and tired in places (but so am I), although the spa is magnificent. All that I can say is ‘give it a Wirl’."

"We've just returned from an exceptional skiing holiday at this hotel in Ober Wirl, up the road from Galtur village. I can't fault anything. Our main reasons for selecting this hotel were the ski-in-ski-out location in Austria, with half board, being in a smaller resort with other non-skiing facilities as options - eg pool, sauna, massages, walking routes etc. Everything was top class - the welcome, ambiance, friendliness, professionalism, food (goodness what a selection and quality), room size & cleanliness. Nothing was 'off the menu' in my opinion. The tour company we booked with fell very short on our transfers and left us at the bottom of a steep hill approach to the hotel, leaving us to pull our heavy luggage several hundred metres up to Reception. Mattias helped to arrange a taxi for the return on departure day, along with some food to make up for a couple of meals missed as a result, at each end of our stay. Whether booking yourself, or as a package, I would advise you ensure transfers 'airport to actual door' are in place. It was easy to find and access all the hotel facilities and it was genuinely on the slopes. We were very lucky with our spacious, clean and well appointed double room in a quiet location on the first floor with a lovely view back down the valley to Galtur village. There was loads of storage in the room too. I might have been disappointed if allocated a similar room at the back, overlooking the carpark, so be aware if you're booking in the future. Also, being very British, I like to be able to make a cuppa in the afternoon. So we took a travel kettle and a few teabags&milk of my own, as these aren't provided. However this wouldn't have been a deal breaker for me, given that everything else was top notch. I do hope we can return to this place, and are even considering the summer to try out some of the walking trails. Our days of wanting to ski from first lift to last are over, so we don't need the huge ski areas any more. However if that's your preference, it would be easy to ski across/down from the hotel to very near the free ski bus stop and go to Ischgl. There are many ski pass flexible options, including ones which include a couple of days in that area. The ski hire place staff were also friendly and helpful, so can recommend them too. There isn't a shop in Wirl for snacks souvenirs etc, so this would need a walk or bus trip into Galtur for this. We didn't feel the need during just one week to go off site though, and the prices in the various mountain restaurants were very reasonable (if you even have room for any more food) - so refreshing after having skied in France for many years. I must thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone - it's clear why guests return each year. I shall finish with "Go, and Enjoy""

"We had a great time with our group of 10 (split across two rooms) and in particular I wanted to give a shoutout to the staff who were always ready to go the extra mile to help us out, both at reception or dinner."

"Hotel has super location. A bus stop in the hotel is - bus drive every 20 minutes in both directions. Very many walking opportunities and attractions. The view of the hotel is super beautiful - around there are mountains. Air Curor!! The hotel is well equipped and very nicely furnished. Personal and very friendly and arranged. The food is very rich. At breakfast there is a large selection of hearty and sweet foods. Dinner - 4 gangs menu. Main meal from 3 different menus selectable. The spa area consists of a pool with integrated whirlpool. Because many children have played, jumped and planned in the pool, we couldn't get in there. The sauna area has extra entrance and offers 3 different saunas ( steam bath, 60 degrees and 90 degrees Finnish sauna, infrared cabin) 2 showers and kitchen gang with different water dishes. 3 rest areas and water station with 3 different syrup varieties. We were 3 nights in this hotel and were happy around. Price performance is top."

"Great food and location, a warm welcome and ambiance. Galtur is a fine choice for the resorts of the paznaun valley. Splendid breakfast spread, eggs and pancakes to order, afternoon snacks available, and dinner the highlight of the day. Delicious all week. Spa wonderful. Some of the unmodernised rooms are a bit tired (but spotless) and some of the interior decoration might benefit from a boost into the 2020’s but overall it’s a lovely establishment, oozing history and hospitality."

"My daughter, grandson & I have just returned from a great week of skiing in Galtür. The hotel made our holiday perfect. Perfect location for ski in/out, getting to ski school and ski bus down to other resorts (Ischgl, Kappl & See) all within 10 - 40 mins). Lift pass office and ski rental shop are next door. Wellness area was beautiful. Naked saunas just in case you were wondering but there is a sauna on the poolside where you can keep your swim costume on. Our room was spacious with plenty of storage. The hotel is VERY warm so take clothes that give you options. We turned our radiators to minimum and left window slightly ajar. Food - delicious. Couldn’t fault breakfast or dinner. Staff and the owner were friendly and welcoming. The service was good. Ski room had boot warmers and was easily accessible. They had a few sledges for the children to use. Great little Apres ski bar attached to the hotel but unless you are in it, you don’t hear any noise. All in all, this is a beautiful hotel and well worth returning to."
