We had a wonderful stay in Galaxidi! Our apartment was perfectly clean, very well furnished, and had everything we wanted. Mrs. Katerina met us personally, made sure we were comfortable, and gave us everything we needed. They even had home made marmalade! Mr. Dimitris stayed in contact with us and even gave us good restaurant recommendations. The grounds are amazing, with beautiful plants and gardens. We would definitely stay here again when we come back to Galaxidi.

1. Don’t kid yourselves. The owner described this place in the booking, as a hotel. It is not a hotel. It is a house. 2. When I booked months in advance, for a mid week stay in April, I received an auto email, confirming the reservation, with a reservation number. But when I showed up on the evening of my booking, no one was there. Gates were shut. Place was empty. I saw a neighbour, who also said no one was around. I called the phone number listed near the entrance, the person who answered said he was in Athens (which is many hours drive away from Galaxidi) and he said a woman cancelled. I said he was obviously mistaken, because I am neither a woman nor did I involve any agents or assistants who were female—I made the booking myself. That he was physically at the moment in Athens, and not in the local area of this pseudo hotel, meant he could not do much else, although he was (nice enough) attempting to be helpful, to mention some nearby hotels (really, b&b’s) but that was fruitless because when I called those, none were available. I had nowhere to stay for the night and had to scramble as the sun was setting (it was around 7 pm) to call a variety of places, and eventually found another sub standard place about 15 to 20 minutes away. Whether in the end, if it was an incompetent web site / I.T. booking system or a mistaken owner / operator, or something else, who knows? What matters is setting expectations and execution on expectations, and this place was one of many examples of failing to execute on expectations , when I was in Greece. (By the way, I have travelled to over 20 first and third world countries before, and my experience in Greece was somewhere in between first and third world. I don’t think that is an unfair statement)
