Mode Hotel Lytham

The room was exactly as advertised, spotlessly clean, a modern shower room, a very comfortable bed, the room was also serviced everyday, breakfast was delivered before 7.30am and left outside our room, consisting of a fresh croissant & jam, cereal bar, an apple, a yoghurt and orange juice. Very impressed with this hotel and will stay again. Perfect location.

Location is good, the rest, well I will leave that for you to decide. First the linen on the bed was not clean and my wife decided to turn the duvet over to get the cleaner side. Normally we would gone reception but their is none. Indeed there is no one at the hotel. Second the shower had mould all along the shower tray. You might think these two points were bad enough for a poor review but there was worse to come. My wife and I both woke up with a start at 3.30am with a noise we both thought was some some attempting to get in our room. After investigation I narrowed it down to the electric circuit box above the door which housed several RCBs. At 4.10am I rang the night manager (at another hotel) and reported the fault. As there was nothing he could do I turned of the isolation switch and we both attempted to get back to sleep. It was room 209 so be aware. The acid test for all our stays is would we return. The answer is never.

The room was smaller than I expected for a Deluxe Double Room and please, please, get new pillows! It was like sleeping with my head on a bag of cement! The breakfast-in-a-bag was a cute concept and I appreciate that giving everyone the same thing is simple but surely it wouldn’t be that onerous to get guests to complete a ticket list menu of things they do or don’t want - I could have saved you the apple, and the orange juice. I’d have been happy with just the yoghurt and the croissant

Mode had a key collect system on the outside - could have done with a clean. The rooms were accessed up a rather steep set of stairs. The only view from our room was of the street below, several shops and restaurants - which we could smell in the evening. Bathroom adequate - couldn’t work out if the shower tray was mouldy or just worn 🤷🏻‍♀️ Room was stifling - opened the window, but noise steadily rose throughout the evening, so when we returned from dinner, we were kept awake until 2am - had to close the window! Fab left in the room was too dusty to use as I have asthma. Bagged breakfast a bit disappointing, had to eat off site as there were no facilities inside and the stale hot air was unpleasant. Barely no hanging space - which was over the coffee machine 😳 Overall really disappointed - only good point was that it was close to the restaurants we visited.

Great location overlooking the square, comfortable room and really great en-suite shower, lots of lovely touches, very easy to gain access via key code. Would stay again. Wi-Fi erratic

Never been to Lytham St Anns before. Never been to a Mode hotel till now. What a beautiful little town, and right in the centre of town lies the Mode hotel. Check in and check out was so easy with no staff in sight. What a great system. Our room 106 was spotless, bed was comfy, great shower with the added touch of slippers and a bath robe. Tea, coffee, and biscuits also supplied. At the reception desk there is a phone which is used if you need to contact a staff member, which I used on one occasion and was greeted with a very friendly an helpful staff member who gave me advice that I needed during my two night stay. If travelling by car, there are plenty of car parks, but you can park free on the promenade road only 5 mins walk from the hotel. Only one small criticism. There is only one key card supplied with the room, other than that I would certainly use Mode hotel again, and have already recommended to others. To management, keep up the good work.
