"This time, I booked the Kyriad Hotel for my layover in Fuzhou. As soon as I got off the plane, I met the shuttle driver who turned out to be a fellow villager from Kaifeng, Henan. Since it was my first time in Changle, the driver patiently introduced us to the local delicacies (the food truly amazed us, so satisfying!). And when there was an issue with the ride-hailing app, the driver enthusiastically helped us call a taxi and even paid for it. The next day, when we tried to repay him, he wouldn't accept it. Meeting someone from your hometown in a foreign land brings such comfort and warmth. Thank you, I'm so touched! 🌹 The hotel's front desk staff were also very kind and welcoming. The room was tidy and clean, which I was very happy with! Our summer trip this year got off to a wonderful start at the Kyriad Fuzhou Changle!"

"I stayed at the Shuxiang Wenru Hotel again, and the overall experience was still fantastic. The independent private courtyard offers great privacy, and the Minnan-style ancient architecture creates a strong cultural atmosphere. There are also exquisite Fuzhou lacquerware art pieces, an intangible cultural heritage, displayed throughout. The room amenities are comprehensive. The breakfast area has been relocated to a new spot, offering fresh air and beautiful surroundings, and it's much more spacious than before. The breakfast selection is rich and features many authentic Fuzhou local flavors, including traditional Minnan snacks. My friend especially raved about the seafood laohua (a local noodle soup). After breakfast, we walked to Sanfang Qixiang. The convenient location allowed us to visit many popular Fuzhou tourist spots. It was a rare immersive experience in an ancient dwelling, making for a comfortable stay and a joyful trip. I look forward to visiting again."

So great for layovers, hail your cabs online because the drivers at the airport were trying to scam me saying it was 50-100 yuan and very far away but it only took 8 minutes to get here from the airport and with the app I use it cost me only 11 yuan. Very spacious, clean and super comfortable. The projector in the room also and added plus."

"As a returning guest of Baisheng, this stay didn't disappoint. The overall service was absolutely five-star standard, from checking in at the entrance to checking out, the whole process was smooth. The room was spotless, and there wasn't a single water stain even in the corners of the bathroom. Watermelon (the staff member) was professional and enthusiastic. From the floor-to-ceiling window in the room, you can overlook the night view of the seaside. After enjoying the teppanyaki, we took a couple of laps in the heated swimming pool – this short trip's experience was absolutely fantastic, completely exceeding expectations. The fatigue from my business trip was largely cured. The large floor-to-ceiling windows provided excellent natural light; I didn't even want to leave the room for two days. My only minor regret is that the power outlet layout could be slightly optimized, but the overall experience already far surpassed my expectations. Oh, and the taro paste for breakfast was especially delicious! And the fish balls too!"

"The hotel's overall decor, facilities, and room size definitely meet five-star standards. The service staff, from the greeters at the door to the chefs in the restaurant, also provide five-star service. However, the front desk service was an absolute mess. There wasn't a single smile during the entire check-in process; it was all very cold. When I booked, I specifically requested not to have rooms at the very beginning or end of a hallway, and to be on a higher floor. Yet, I was still assigned the second-to-last room at the end of a corridor. Walking back to the room always felt dark and uncomfortable. Then, I booked the hotel through Trip.com, and the room description clearly stated that soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, and a minibar were included. However, the fridge in the room, including the minibar, had no complimentary drinks whatsoever. It's not that I absolutely needed these drinks – they're just 2-3 yuan a can anyway, so it's not a big deal. But that night, I wanted a late-night snack and suddenly craved a drink, so I called to inquire. The front desk was still cold and unresponsive, telling me in a monotone voice, 'We used to have them, but not anymore. There are no drinks now.' There wasn't a single word of comfort or apology. Honestly, a five-star hotel in Pingtan for under 600 RMB a night is much better than this one at over 700 RMB. Usually, when I travel, I book 4-star or officially designated five-star hotels. The last thing I want to book is a diamond-rated hotel, and yet, the one time I did, I completely stepped on a landmine. This is just unacceptable."

Elong Hotel
"This hotel booking was a bit of a miss. Based on the pictures and reviews, it was ranked second, so I thought it couldn't be bad, but there was quite a big discrepancy. First, the hotel is on the street and I didn't see a ramp, so I had to carry my luggage up many steps. There's no proper lobby either. The decor is just basic, budget-hotel standard, although the room itself was quite large. The shower room has completely transparent glass, so there's absolutely no privacy when showering. The restaurant is shared with the adjacent hot spring bathhouse. The staff at the reception on the first floor were very enthusiastic, but the professionalism of the housekeeping staff on the upper floors needs improvement."

"Decent hotel. Room is very clean. Only one complaint is the bad design of bathroom. There is no glass door or even curtain to separate the shower. Hence the water will splash outside and make the bathroom floor wet. You can’t even tilt the shower head inward to reduce the water splash, because the dry towels are put inside the shower. Never seen such non-practical shower design."

The surrounding area is quite quiet, and there's a mall nearby, making it convenient for dining out or ordering takeout. The room's cleanliness was also decent. Overall, it was a good experience and I was quite satisfied."
