Hotel Delfin Plava Laguna

"Sure, it's a 2-star hotel, so you can't expect a lot of things (e.g., air conditioning). First, the positives: Great location right by the sea. A good-sized balcony. The room size is generally okay. (Access to the shower is very limited, the toilet is right in front of it.) Nice pool area, plenty of parking. Nice live music by the pool in the evenings. But I do have some complaints. First, the room door is stuck, so you have to push against it to open or close it. Then there's water damage in the bathroom, where water is dripping from the vent. It's not very pleasant when you're sitting on the toilet. The rooms weren't cleaned very well; some stains could be removed with just a wipe of the finger. Once when I entered the room, the door wasn't locked(!). The rooms are also easily accessible via the balcony from the neighboring room; just climb over and go in, because the housekeeping staff always leaves the balcony door open anyway. The checkout process is very chaotic, there's no clear procedure. Sometimes the staff just stand there doing nothing, even though 50 people are trying to check out. The staff are very stressed and unfriendly; there's no "thank you for your stay." Nothing at all, just return the keys and goodbye. Additionally, the website stated (after a tedious search) that a parking fee of €1.20 per day is charged. It ended up being €1.50. Furthermore, personal documents such as passports or ID cards are not kept under lock and key, but behind the counter where the room keys hang. Visible and accessible to everyone. Not very secure (!). Since the hotel accommodates a lot of children and groups of children, it's correspondingly loud, starting at 7:00 a.m. So if you want a quiet hotel, stay away from the Delfin! For that price, you can get great apartments in Croatia, even 4-star ones. Personally, I won't book there again."

Maistra Select Funtana All Inclusive Resort

"Incredibly friendly staff. Everything has been renovated. The food is great, with lunch and dinner menus that change every day of the week. Themed dinners. The smoothie at breakfast was a pleasant surprise. The entire resort and surrounding area are fantastically clean. Everything is included in the price—parking, EV charging, lounge chairs, pedal boats, and all sports activities. Spacious, comfortable shower, comfortable bed, and well-functioning air conditioning. You can always find a place to park, even if it’s not always easy. Building 4 is quiet even at night. The resort surpassed most four-star resorts we’ve ever stayed at. Cons: Poor quality of drinks (from vending machines) and wine. The beer was surprisingly good for a resort of this caliber. Twice a week (3–6 p.m.), the DJ was great, but otherwise there was no other entertainment for adults."
