Dream Inn

Location: Many users mentioned the hotel has a good location, being close to bus/train stations, restaurants, and other event places. Also, it's in a quiet area with nearby public facilities like a library and downtown within short walking distance(based on 1 review)

The hotel appears to have been built in the 70s, around a central courtyard, with a pool. The finishes seem to have been updated in the past few years. Check In was fast and easy. I had booked a Room with Two Doubles, but the clerk changed it to a room with a Single King when he saw I was alone. The parking lot is fenced, with the only access being right by the Front Office. It is well lit. I found the room to be clean, the bed to be relatively comfortable, with 4 pillows and a Granite Top Nightstand to each side, with a wall mounted light above each of them. The room was simply appointed, but had a Desk and Chair, a Side Chair, and an Arm Chair, a Chest of Drawers, and a Wall Mounted Flat Screen TV. There is a Refrigerator, a Microwave, and a Non Keurig style Coffee Maker. There is a Blow Dryer and an Ironing Board, but I found no Clothes Iron. There is a good sized stone top vanity, with large mirror outside the restroom. There is a Tub/Shower Combination, and a ADA height Toilet, which I prefer now that I'm getting older. Norma, one of the housekeepers was very helpful when I approached her about the room coffee maker that was leaking. When I had tried to make coffee on my first of two mornings, water ran out the bottom, nearly as fast as I poured it in to the reservoir. Norma readily gave me another, in exchange for the broken one. The Motel is located right behind the Veterans Memorial Auditorium, on the North edge of Downtown Fresno. The neighborhood seems to be pretty run down within a few blocks of the Hotel. While I was able to park within sight of my room, most of the parking lot is not viewable from the rooms. The Arm Chair is worn, with fraying fabric, and the Chair for the desk is pretty stained. Like most older properties, it is not as insulated for sound as most newer properties are. I could hear people coming and going, and even the people in the neighboring rooms. It seemed that some of the guests were staying for extended time. On the morning I left, there were two Police Cruisers and a Police Van in the Parking Lot. One of the officers was apparently searching for someone, or something.
