""I never leave reviews for any hotels. I expect the best when I book the best. Fortunately for The Lead Hotel, I am going to leave a review because I was impressed with all aspects of your property." "The Hotel and Room - The hotel is located perfectly away from the inner city and closer to one of the beaches, which I appreciated. Cosmetically, the hotel is well-manicured and secure. They clean the hotel grounds, trim the bushes, and paint the scuffs every day like they do at Disneyland (impressive). Secondly, I was upgraded to a larger room with a kitchen, washer, and dryer inside the room at no cost because the hotel was crowded. (That has nothing to do with the review.) The room was very clean and up to my standards. The hotel has day and night security guards." "The Staff - I reached out to the hotel a few weeks before I arrived in Freetown concerning transportation to the hotel, and the staff couldn’t have been any more helpful. They provided transportation from the Sea-coach Docks. Housekeeping was prompt and attentive to my schedule, and regardless of what time I left, the room was pristine clean when I got back. The front desk staff and the managing partner or owner were all very friendly and went above and beyond to address any questions I had." "The Pool - Loved the pool. I was there every single day, basking in the sun. The pool boy was there every single day cleaning the pool. It’s the closest thing to an infinity pool." "Restaurant - Now, this I think can be improved a little. Not so much the restaurant itself, but the menu. The whole menu was western food (burgers, pizza, etc.). When you are in Sierra Leone, you might want some of the local staple food. Have some local dishes on the menu as well for those of us who are curious about the local cuisines.""

"A large group of colleagues stayed here. We loved it! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. It had a minifridge and a hot water kettle. They provided a bottle of water each day and a plate of fruit, plus tea and coffee. A really lovely touch is that they deliver a baked good like a muffin or cookie to your room every afternoon! They also have cookies and espresso available in the lobby. The ocean view from my room was gorgeous. The bathroom was fantastic! It had a magical waterfall shower that never lacked for hot water. They provide basic toiletries like shampoo. I really appreciated how accommodating they were with us- we had to change plans a few times and they were able to help with that. They have a helpful service at the airport where their staff will help get you transported from the airport to the boat dock, then they pick you up again on the other side of the bay and transport you to the hotel. The complimentary breakfast buffet was very good. Lots of options, including made to order omelets, fruit, toast, beans, plantains, salads, etc. The restaurant next door to the hotel was fantastic, and you can charge meals to your room. The wifi always worked well for me. The pool is fairly small but was clean and a comfortable temperature. I would stay here again!"

"Our firm hosted a partners conference at the Home Suites Hotel in May and we were extremely happy with the facilities, service and food. Staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was great and fresh coconuts on hand were an added bonus! We would recommend to businesses looking to host meetings or even for those on holiday in Freetown."

"I stayed at The Country Lodge Hotel for about three (3) weeks. It was a very enjoyable and lovely experience, and from check-in to check-out, I had such a wonderful and great customer service. The check-in process with Agnes at the front desk reception was swift and professional. She explained everything accordingly, and was very pleasant and warm. Throughout my stay, all of the staff I encountered were so helpful, attentive and genuine. They went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Sanjay Duppa (Reservation & Revenue Manager) upgraded my room to a suite. It was an impressive suite - spotless and spacious, with a beautiful layout. The bed was very comfortable, and there was a balcony with a breathtaking view of the city. A big thanks to the housekeeping team - Sunday (supervisor), Tadie and Richard for taking good care of me. They knew exactly what I needed, without me asking. The breakfast area was spotless and well-organized. I loved the sitting area - you had a good view of the pool and part of the City. The buffet was the highlight of the mornings - very tasty with a variety of dishes. I was quite impressed by the range, from made-to-order omelet/egg station to international and authentic local dishes. The chefs (Aaron and Osman) were both amazing. They knew exactly how I liked my egg done. The Supervisor and his team (Joseph, Fatima, Mabinti, Bintu, Mansaray, Ibrahim, Christiana, Narthanus) were so warm, attentive and welcoming. I felt so valued here, and all of the staff treated me so well. Fatmata at the front desk reception, Munich (maintenance supervisor) who helped me instantly with the AC, Patrick Kamara at the laundry, Muctarr (technician) and the rest of the team made my stay wonderful. A very big thanks to Sanjay for all the help and assistance he provided. He is such a pleasant, warm and caring Manager. From the outset, Sanjay went above and beyond by facilitating a complimentary room upgrade. And throughout my stay, he was hands-on to ensure I was comfortable. Very proactive and customer-oriented. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to my colleagues and friends, and I look forward to my next visit."

"Had to bang on gate for several minutes before being allowed in. Once in, i thought i had come tot the wrong place - an empty yard or construction site or something. The manager emerged and took me to a room. There was no-one around but i was told it was full. The room I was shown to was a ground floor double - it was dark and smelled as if it hadn't been aired in a while. The owner wiped the table with her fingers and commented on how dusty it was - but didn't make any move to have it cleaned. I was asked to pay up-front. The pillow cases had not been washed - disgusting - and an absolute red line for me. What kind of establishment makes guests use pillow cases stinking of previous guests bodies. Following morning there was no water. I had to ask for the pump to be switched on. I can do basic, but staying here was horrible and not particularly friendly experience."

"Stayed here 2 nights and then 1 further night. I was bitterly disappointed with the experience. The service was abysmal - staff unfriendly and don't smile at all. Most of the time it appears to be an inconvenience when they have to serve you. They never have any change no matter what you pay for. We had to pay for our pre booked room on arrival but were told we would be given our change on Check out- we had to ask for our change and then they still tried to get out of giving it. The second time that we stayed we had a very early check out and they were unable to offer a breakfast box even though we had pain $196 for a 9 hour stay. The bathrooms are dirty and in desperate need of refurbishment. The grounds and pool area are long over due for attention. When ever we ordered dinner we had to have a second choice ready as first choice was never available. Staff expect a tip for EVERYTHING. It is a 10 minute walk to Aberdeen beach which is ok for an afternoon stroll."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay in a tastefully furnished room wich was fully equipped to meet our needs. Tea/coffee facilities with bottles of fresh water and clean towels provided daily. The receptionist was always polite and helped us to exchange money and arranged for a reliable driver to pick us up and show us the main points of interest. All staff were very welcoming including the porter and security staff"

Home Suites Boutique Hotel Freetown ★★★★
"Avoid this hotel at all costs! Our experience at this hotel was absolutely dreadful, marked by theft and dishonest behavior. • A brand-new travel mosquito net, purchased just two weeks before our stay and never used, was “thrown away” by the housekeeping staff under the pretext that it was in poor condition. Despite contacting the hotel promptly after leaving, we received no clear response. We had to return in person, where staff admitted to discarding it, all while being rude and confrontational. • At the restaurant, we were asked to pay under the table $20 for a simple plate of pineapple, with the excuse that it was “not on the menu.” This is an unacceptable and unethical practice. • Worst of all, the management showed complete dishonesty by asking us to send a message confirming that we had been refunded, promising to issue the refund afterward. Unsurprisingly, no refund was ever made. This hotel demonstrates appalling management, zero professionalism, and blatant disrespect for its guests. We strongly advise against staying here to avoid such a disappointing and shocking experience."

"The hotel is neither bad nor great, but in average condition. However, the reception staff are extremely unfriendly. Breakfast offers a variety of options, but the only edible items are coffee and eggs. The hotel is designed for families. There are too many mosquitoes."
