📍 11 Man 'O' War Bay, Aberdeen, Freetown
★★★★ 5.0 (7 reviews)

"The restaurant supervision is very poor. The staff there are too young and unprofessional. They only care about the leftover food for themselves. There are too many flies settling on the meal, when a range of meal gets finished from the serving bowl, thy do not care to replace. I think the supervisor of the restaurant must seat up. The rooms are also infested with too much inserts."

"I spent a week at Metro Hotel during my visit to Sierrea Leone. It is a budget friendly hotel, not far from Lumley beach with free basic breakfast. It is 5 mins walk from Freetown Supermarket where you can buy any toiletries you forgot to bring or stock up on snacks. The food at the hotel was good but they didn't have Sierrea Leonean meals."

The Stafford Lodge Hotels in Freetown

The Stafford Lodge

"I came back to Stafford lodge this year with Bea Adventurous on a cultural immersion tour of Freetown. Sierra Leone might well be a third world country, but with the country now at peace after the Civil War it is well worth a trip for those looking to explore a new culture, learn about its incredible history and the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. The hotel is run by Doree a d her team and if you’re looking for a safe hotel in Freetown, at a reasonable price, this is the place to come. The hotel has come on leaps and bounds since my last visit despite the tough economic conditions of this country. Westerners have very different expectations hotels that they stay in across the world and I think that Dory and her amazing staff are doing an incredible job at encouraging tourism was making you feel safe and secure. The rooms are really comfortable with air-conditioning, hot showers and there’s always a cold beer and nice food. The hotel is central and offers transport in and around the city. Be brave and come and visit! This is definitely the place to stay in Freetown. cold beer in the fridge."

The Lead Hotel ★★★★
""I never leave reviews for any hotels. I expect the best when I book the best. Fortunately for The Lead Hotel, I am going to leave a review because I was impressed with all aspects of your property." "The Hotel and Room - The hotel is located perfectly away from the inner city and closer to one of the beaches, which I appreciated. Cosmetically, the hotel is well-manicured and secure. They clean the hotel grounds, trim the bushes, and paint the scuffs every day like they do at Disneyland (impressive). Secondly, I was upgraded to a larger room with a kitchen, washer, and dryer inside the room at no cost because the hotel was crowded. (That has nothing to do with the review.) The room was very clean and up to my standards. The hotel has day and night security guards." "The Staff - I reached out to the hotel a few weeks before I arrived in Freetown concerning transportation to the hotel, and the staff couldn’t have been any more helpful. They provided transportation from the Sea-coach Docks. Housekeeping was prompt and attentive to my schedule, and regardless of what time I left, the room was pristine clean when I got back. The front desk staff and the managing partner or owner were all very friendly and went above and beyond to address any questions I had." "The Pool - Loved the pool. I was there every single day, basking in the sun. The pool boy was there every single day cleaning the pool. It’s the closest thing to an infinity pool." "Restaurant - Now, this I think can be improved a little. Not so much the restaurant itself, but the menu. The whole menu was western food (burgers, pizza, etc.). When you are in Sierra Leone, you might want some of the local staple food. Have some local dishes on the menu as well for those of us who are curious about the local cuisines.""

The Swiss Hotel Freetown ★★★★
"I had a one month stay at the swiss hotel as i traveled for work to Freetown. I needed a kitchen as i was following a specific nutrition protocol and spacious room for exercising amd for work. I checked over six hotels to see if they meet my needs on my pre-visit and i chose the swiss (and stayed in two other places in freetown). For the one month stay Apartments at the swiss hotel perfectly met my needs. The general manager Ms Zulu was extremely helpful, caring and accomodating. Staff supported requests and questions very swiftly. I was very happy about my stay at the swiss hotel, and if i ever go back, i wont even think about staying anywhere else. I must say that finding a good lodging in freetown is a challenge, and even a lot more expenaive hotels provided substantially less than the swiss hotel can offer. I d recommend it to all travelers who come for a short mission or a 2-8 week mission."

"Old grandeur now turned into Chinese investment ? Not sure how to rate the hotel. Staffs are trying to be helpful and accommodating. But the entire (huge) area show signs of an old world that died away years ago.... So there is an eerie feeling with some 170 rooms and long corridors empty. During my visit (for about half an hour) I did not see a single guest. I toured the place, but did not stop to eat or have a coffee. So i could be wrong. But feel this place need customers!!!"

Mamba Point Hotel ★★★★
"A large group of colleagues stayed here. We loved it! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. It had a minifridge and a hot water kettle. They provided a bottle of water each day and a plate of fruit, plus tea and coffee. A really lovely touch is that they deliver a baked good like a muffin or cookie to your room every afternoon! They also have cookies and espresso available in the lobby. The ocean view from my room was gorgeous. The bathroom was fantastic! It had a magical waterfall shower that never lacked for hot water. They provide basic toiletries like shampoo. I really appreciated how accommodating they were with us- we had to change plans a few times and they were able to help with that. They have a helpful service at the airport where their staff will help get you transported from the airport to the boat dock, then they pick you up again on the other side of the bay and transport you to the hotel. The complimentary breakfast buffet was very good. Lots of options, including made to order omelets, fruit, toast, beans, plantains, salads, etc. The restaurant next door to the hotel was fantastic, and you can charge meals to your room. The wifi always worked well for me. The pool is fairly small but was clean and a comfortable temperature. I would stay here again!"
