The town is very small. Apart from the self-driving motel, there is a luxury rainforest hotel and youth hostel haka. This haka is newly opened. In addition to the bed room, there are also ordinary rooms with bathrooms. It is generally new and the facilities are basic but sufficient. The kitchen and common lounge are quite large. It is orderly and clean even when full.
Recommended to stay overnight in the town.
Facilities: Complete, there is also a sauna room
Hygiene: basically new and clean
Environment: Surrounded by rainforest environment, not far from the main National Highway 6, convenient for viewing glaciers and hiking

Loved my stay at the Haka House. Spacious kitchen and hangout area made it perfect for a rainy day in Franz Josef.

Everything was good, the only issue was with the plugpoints in the bathroom. We connected the hairdryer to a few plugpoints but some didn't work.
