Hampton Inn Franklin

Mini fridge did not work. Air conditioner did not cool properly. Parking was limited. Area was sketch.

Made reservation on ******* and paid with my credit card while driving in. New employee in training was nice but didn’t know what he was doing. Eventually he got me checked in. When I checked out the next morning I asked for a receipt but I didn’t look at it until later when I found out the receipt was for another guest. Then a few days later when I got to where I was going I found out that the hotel had billed my credit card for the room even though I had already paid *******. What is worse is that the rate that the hotel billed me for was almost $30.00 less than I paid *******. When I called to try to book the room directly with the hotel the rate they gave me was over $40.00 more than *******. After checking my credit card, reviewing the incorrect receipt, and then calling Brittany at the hotel I was told that a credit would be issued, which it was about a week later. It should not be that difficult to book a hotel room and to get the booking done right. Even though it all got straightened out, I feel cheated out of at least the time I wasted getting it straightened out. I’m not a fan of ******* but when you can’t call a property directly and get a decent rate, guests are forced to use the booking services. I like Hampton Inn properties but this is the second time something like this has happened to me on a trip to Michigan. Once at this property and once at a property in Shepardsville, Kentucky.

I reserved this through ******* and it does NOT state ANYWHERE on the ******* Site that the POOL IS CLOSED FOR THE 2025 SEASON.

At check-in, they charged us more than what ******* said it would be. There was hair all over the wall of the shower. The front check-in person was rude. We were by the elevator and it was excessively noisy with children, running up and down the hall and then a lot of noise at the elevator.

This hotel should take the bed in room 309 out to a field and burn it! It’s so hard, I couldn’t sleep well either night that I was there. My back was killing in the morning. We asked for the towels to be switched out and housekeeping never showed up all day. We were asked to bring our dirty towels down to the front desk to receive new towels for our second night’s stay. Why couldn’t they have brought them to our room instead? The fan in the bathroom is loaded with dust and the shower’s caulking is so dirty and gross. This hotel is not maintained well at all and needs a lot of work. The microwave was about 15 years old with a dial to set the time for heating. The fridge freezes waters if you use the fridge in the room. This place has a LOT of opportunities to improve!

TV only had a limited number of cable channels and no local network channels. Front desk person contacted the manager and blamed it on the cable company but the problem was not resolved before we left. Room was OK, clean and breakfast was good
