While novel, this process may appeal to international travellers accustomed to similar procedures, it is NOT normal in Norway! 3. **Room Design and Privacy** The rooms are designed with privacy in mind, featuring separate beds with a "night table" in between, no thank you. 4. **Technology and Keycard System** The hotel has a separate keycard for the room key set in the room's power supply. Why? 5. **Location** Thon Fosnavåg's location is a significant advantage, offering easy access to local attractions and services. **Areas for Improvement** 1. **Temperature Control in Bathrooms** Guests may find the inability to adjust bathroom temperatures a minor inconvenience, particularly if they prefer a colder environment. 2. **Luggage Storage** The absence of a dedicated luggage room means that luggage is placed in an "open landscape" near the reception. This could concern guests who want to prioritise security and privacy. 3. **Coffee Facilities During Conferences** During conferences, the hotel faced an issue with a shortage of coffee cups, so paper cups were used. However, this was a temporary measure. Thon Fosnavåg Hotel offers a blend of modern amenities and traditional Norwegian hospitality, making it a suitable choice for travellers seeking centrally located and convenient accommodation. While it excels in providing a comfortable and contemporary stay, there are areas for improvement, and I do not recommend this hotel. Communication is a crucial aspect of any accommodation, and the lack of responsiveness in this area could lead to frustration and a poor overall experience.

De room was good, clean and large. But the service in the restaurant for dinner wasn't great. Very inexperienced staff!

This is one of my favourite hotels. I haven't written a review for a while now, so I thought I'd write some lines about my two stays this year (June and August). This is a convenient weekend getaway for me. I'm telling myself that I'm travelling to Fosnavåg to photograph birds on Runde, but that has lately become an excuse to get to revisit this hotel. This is still a great hotel; well maintained, great service, comfy beds and quality bedding, effective cleaning staff, ice machine in the hallway etc. I also like that they take the THON membership benefits seriously. I'm a Platinum member and they have always upgraded me by at least one room category, even on very busy weekends. Much appreciated. I mentioned it before, but repeat it so they don't get tempted to remove them: I think it's very nice to have the old minibar fridges, now empty, powered and cold. If I were to nitpick about some negatives, I would say that I would have liked it better if the beds were placed on the other wall, which would allow me to watch the ocean view while in bed. Also, the bread served at breakfast doesn't always seem to be very fresh. This is especially true after a busy weekend (e.g. Tuesday morning). I can understand the economics of this, though; I still remember my 15 months in the marines.
