Hilton Garden Inn Flint Downtown

The room and hotel was great. I don’t like that you do have to pay.$20 per day for parking or you will need to use the city parking but you can’t park over night as city parking expires at midnight. The location has no pool but has a nice roof top. Drinks were pretty reasonable. Over all it was nice.

Main complaints are they didn't give me the room I reserved. They gave me a lower grade room for a higher price. I have a service dog but I don't know if that was the reason. Normally I leave him in the car until after checking I but this time I couldn't do to the fact they have no parking there. You either pay valet $20.00 or you have to drive across the street and park there for $5.00. I picked valet but told the guy that it had a handicap permit and he said there was an open spot in the lot attached to hotel. I told him I'd need something out of it later and was assured he'd bring my car up anytime I wanted it as that was included. So later when I went to get what I needed I was told valet went home and I'd have to go get it myself. While come to find out they had taken it across the street and parked it on the 3rd level. They didn't know what level it was on so I had to walk each level pressing the remote constantly. On top of that the elevator doesn't work at the parking structure so someone 71 years old with a service dog for mobility has a bit of a problem with that....anyway as you've probably figured I'm not at all impressed with the hotel.

Very nice hotel, especially, the staff. Katie in reception was wonderful. Very helpful and very pleasant. I will be sure to stay here again the next time I travel to Flint. Also, Nicole at the brunch and MaryLynn at the dinner restaurant we're fantastic.

Very friendly staff, clean rooms and a nice lounge area. It's the best option when staying in Flint and the location is perfect in historic downtown. The building is a refurbished bank and they have the original vault open to check out from the bar.

Where to begin... first time at this location. We were NOT impressed. No parking unless you valet. $20.00 and waited more than 20 minutesto get an attendant. My wife finally went inside and no one was at the desk. 'She had to get their attention since front desk and valet attendant were "visiting" in the back and she could hear them. I've stayed at Motel 6's that had better towels. Sandpaper would feel better. The Right bedside table outlets didn't work, we were short a pillow, on top of that when I asked the front desk for 1, she acted like I was asking for the world. The coffee maker was apparently stilled with water from the previous people, because when it started it over filled the coffee cup and spilled all over. Trying to stop it I burned my hand from the hot coffee. All the little things on their own could be dismissed. Collectively, it reveals a poorly executed property. This is NOT a Hilton!

Seriously, this is a great hotel. Clean, spacious rooms, a great restaurant, excellent bar, terrific service and good location. This is absolutely not your typical garden inn. So proud of flint for making this place happen downtown. Highly recommended
