Filitheyo Island Resort Reviews

Our stay at Filitheyo Island was absolutely gorgeous! The island and its house reef are simply breathtaking, with stunning coral formations and an incredible variety of fish. Our villa was perfect—just a few steps from the reef, making it easy to explore the underwater beauty. The food was incredible—delicious and diverse, with a different cuisine to enjoy every night. The bar was fantastic, and the staff truly made our stay unique. A special thanks to Rabiul and Raj at the bar, who were always kind, friendly, and had the best attitude. The only issue we encountered was during checkout. We had planned for a late checkout to have lunch at the main restaurant and enjoy a few last drinks at the bar, but our departure time was suddenly changed without prior notice. We only found out because we happened to ask at reception. As a result, we left the resort earlier than expected, only to wait nearly an hour on the boat near the airport, which didn’t make much sense to us. Aside from that, everything else was wonderful, and we truly enjoyed our stay!

Overall, the experience was very good👍 However, the day before leaving the island, I was drinking at the sunset bar (Figure 2)🥤 and my travel experience was affected by a waiter The all-inclusive plan actually requires a bill, which other waiters never asked me to do, and it was not written in the booklet when I checked in (Figure 1) But this waiter was so rude that he asked me to sign the bill with him in front of so many people, even though I had told him the room number when I ordered, and the amount of consumption on the bill was 0

If you love snorkeling this is definitely your best choice

The place is really beautiful, the atoll is quite isolated, it has only this resort. In addition, Filitheyo is surrounded by the coral reef, but it also organizes many excursions for snorkeling and spotting other aquatic animals. Every now and then they lack a bit of organization, but this certainly did not affect our stay. I recommend it and I myself would go back.

Very clean, love the atmosphere

We went to Filitheyo at the middle to the end of May. The staff were friendly, our waiter Abdulla was the perfect blend of friendly, helpful yet not over the top. The bar staff were again the perfect blend of helpful yet not intrusive. We stayed in an over water villa. And although the rooms were tired they were scrupulously clean, the bed not very comfortable although they did add a mattress topper for us, which helped. Food was amazing so much choice I had sushi nearly every day! The reef is good but currents were very strong but I’m thinking it was the time of year we went. This was our 16th visit to the Maldives and the gardens were the best we have ever seen. We felt at home instantly upon our arrival. What a gem of an island.

It’s our first time in Maldives and found this resort to be one of the best resorts we have been to. I highly recommend stayin on the water villa. Exotic fishes are literally at your footsteps going down the ocean from your villa! It was amazing! The staff are all friendly and pleasant. Very helpful too! I will definitely come back! Attached are some photos I took during our first day. We had a half board but would recommend doing the all inclusive.

My experience on the island of Filitheyo impressed me very much. Friendly staff throughout the island. Very nice reception, the staff really tries to make visitors feel at home. The food is excellent, the chef deserves credit and praise. Friendly staff in the spa center, from which you leave feeling like a new person.

I am currently on the island half way through my holiday. There are numerous positives to this rustic island, the friendly and efficient staff ( bar, restaurant and room services). They cannot be faulted in any way. However what needs addressing is the fact WiFi is chargeable from $6.22 per hour up to $124.26 for a week. This came as a surprise to me and many other guests, who I understand have expressed their disappointment. This is not made clear in any website etc. In this day and age, WiFi is part of the day to day living and should be included in the holiday cost. When I questioned my surprise, I was told that if they included the cost, it may deter people coming. I was further advised that this is what the service provider could offer. Surely it is down to the customer to dictate what they want.!!! I feel I was being fobbed off. I am surprised as the sister island, Medhufushi, does not charge for WiFi. Further more once you sign up to WiFi, they forget to tell you that after 10 minutes of non use, you have to sign in again, and the same applies if you change location on the island. This is onerous. Presumably, over a period of time, this saves the island money!! There are a number of other issues which concern me. One of which is that some of the hot dishes were cold when I chose them. After 3/4 days I did speak to someone about this matter, just by way of feedback. 2 days later nothing has changed. In my opinion it is important that these concerns are brought to the managements attention and dealt with. I therefore will not go into my other concerns, but suggest a senior manager arranges to meet with me and hopefully resolve all issues. I believe they will know who I am and look forward to an honest and productive dialogue. If this does not happen I will provide a supplemental review in due course.

Filitheyo is a stunning island with soft white sand, clear turquoise water, and fantastic snorkeling just steps from the shore. The staff are genuinely friendly and make you feel welcome right away. Food is delicious and varied, with something new every day. The whole place has a peaceful, natural vibe—perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Vacation here its like in paradise. We loved it from the first second we got here. Services is great and people are really kind here. Food is really good here as well.

Had the most amazing 11night stay at Filitheyo Island Resort! The staff were excellent, Mufassal in particular gave incredible service. All of the staff are so very attentive, you can't finish a drink without it being replenished! All very friendly and a great hospitible atmosphere. We stayed in a Water Villa - would recommend, perfect panoramic views of the ocean, great for snorkelling on the house reef. And had some friendly bat fish near our room! View of the sunset from balcony was incredible. At the sunset bar, staff prepare sunloungers with towels and greet you on arrival. Always on hand, Fauk & Raj in particular always very friendly and give the most amazing service. In the main bar, Robbie was great for drink suggestions and king of bespoke cocktails. And Ram the most friendly and always a pleasure. What a perfect island and relaxing stay. if you are after peace and tranquility, this is the place for you. Filitheyo was everything we hoped for and more. The island is stunning, the staff are super friendly, and the snorkeling was some of the best we’ve ever done. It feels really peaceful and authentic - just genuinely beautiful. Very family friendly as well and the food was great! We will definitely miss this place!
