We have just got home after a great 2 night stay here - at this time of year there is no parking directly outside but this is not a problem as we got a (free) space further up the road. Warm welcome from James on arrival. The room and ensuite were immaculate - is it weird to say probably the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen?! Lots of lovely extras like slippers/robes/mini fridge and good selection of teas/coffees etc. Appreciated the proper coffee bags and Yorkshire tea of course! Very comfy bed, and the little breakfast and bottled water was an added bonus. Location is central Filey so everything is close by. We only wish we could have stayed longer!

What an absolute gem! Beautifully appointed with attention to detail. Everything was of a high standard & very clean. Even the drinks options in the room were quality. A hot breakfast was not an option, but a good variety of fruit, yoghurt, cereals & juice set us up nicely.

Really lovely hotel and friendly welcoming staff. The room was spotless, massive TV and the bathroom was lovely with a large shower and bath. Had snacks and drinks offered to us which we could go downstairs and get. Had a really nice stay, would definitely recommend. And very good price too!

This is a lovely guest house. Our bedroom/bathroom.were superb although bedroom on the small side but bathroom huge. The owners are lovely people very friendly. It is such a shame they don't do a cooked breakfast but there.were cereals fruit etc that you could take your room. All in all a great b n b would go back. Anne walker

8 of us went as had to attend a family funeral. Very welcoming especially during a sad time. I cannot recommend this highly enough. They have thought of everything. Think we were out of season as there was no cooked breakfast but not a problem as due to the location, there are plenty of cafes nearby. Having said that there was an excellent supply of cereals, fruit juice, milk And fresh fruit. There was even ‘goody’ boxes with chocolate and crisps. The bedrooms are excellent with fridge and jug of fresh milk, good supply of tea, coffee and biscuits. The little extras were a bonus with wine glasses and corkscrew. Wardrobes has dressing gowns and slippers. Bathrooms were spacious and exceptionally clean, as was the room. There were plenty of mirrors and plug sockets in the right place, well thought out meaning you can actually dry your hair and see what you are doing. Although the beds were comfy think it was memory foam and I personally find them too hot, but that’s personal choice. On entering this guest house there are beach towels if required. All rooms have big TV’s, which are internet so loads to watch if you don’t fancy going out. We all had a lovely stay despite our reason for being there. Really well thought out place to stay and comfortable - Well Done !!!

We were given a lovely welcome by the owner's son and all the staff were extremely helpful throughout the stay, in fact they couldn't do enough for you. The bedroom was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There was no cooked breakfast but ample cereals, fruit juices, yoghurts, fruit, and plenty of chocolate snacks. Perfect for us. We were lucky with the weather and the beach was only a 5 minute walk. Plenty of good restaurants, cafes, and pubs within a 5 minute walk. We loved it.

Hand luggage was stolen in the foyer of the guest house while we were parking our car on arrival. Too many stairs and the rooms were tiny not as the photos show above definitely was very disappointed. Did not see any swimming pool either. There were no meals being served as stated above. We would not recommend staying here there were better places for the price we paid

Filey Grange is very well situated in Filey. It is well kept and our room was pristinely clean and comfortable. Filey was still quite busy and it was difficult to park close by. For breakfast, there is a selection of fruit, yoghurt, cereal and juice in the lobby to be taken to your room. We were aware that this was the case when we booked but do not think this system worked well. We had previously stayed at this guest house many years ago and breakfast was served to guests in the traditional way, which is much more enjoyable. The room was quite small and it felt cramped to be eating in there. After breakfast, we went out for the day, returning at 2.45. We were out for over 6 hours. Our room had not been serviced and so our dirty breakfast crockery was still stacked on the table. I asked for the room to be cleaned and within 10 minutes this was rectified. It was explained to me that they were busy and the cleaning was often at this time but it didn’t seem busy at all and it seemed that only a couple of rooms were occupied. Personally, I think that is not acceptable to leave breakfast debris all day. The next morning , we realised that the crockery had not been replaced and, as we were checking out to travel home, we only had yoghurt and fruit. In conclusion, Filey Grange definitely had positives but wasn’t as good as we were expecting from the five star reviews.
