"I recently stayed at Bricia Du Mar and it was a fabulous experience. Every staff member was exceptional (friendly, helpful, professional) including the reception staff (especially Victor); the restaurant, pool bar and breakfast staff - each was professional, friendly and accommodated menu changes to suit personal taste; the cleaning staff (especially the morning staff member who looked after the gym); the night reception staff member (who deserves a special mention for assisting me via email before I arrived and was so helpful with my earlier check out, taxi transfer etc). The accommodation was very well maintained, with lots of storage, nicely decorated, and a good kitchenette - ideal for a short break. The grounds were beautifully maintained, and the pool area was a lovely relaxing and quite space. The gym was excellent with lots of equipment, well maintained and very clean. It would be great if the gym opened earlier to allow more time to use in the morning and to get to breakfast on time, without needing to rush. Also, it lacks air conditioning which made cardio work quite uncomfortable, despite being usually cold outside for the time of year. Dining options included the pool bar during the day and the restaurant in the evening. The food and service in both were excellent. The breakfast was also of a very good standard, lots of options and the buffet was replenished continuously. Without hesitation, I recommend Bricia du Mar. "POSITIVES: Fantastic views Nice Pool area Clean NEGATIVES Parking spaces can be a real problem- not enough and far too small Room - paid for a sea view and ended up in a dungeon type room on the ground floor with access only via a narrow winding staircase with no lift access. This staircase in my opinion is dangerous for the elderly or even anyone having had a few drinks. (We fall into the elderly category) Avoid rooms 101-106!!!!!!!! No separate shower.Smallest bath towels ever experienced. Empty fridge,No water provided,No tea of coffee in the room Ants in the room and bathroom all the time. Room safe (Small) charged extra which consisted of being given the complete cylinder /barrel to insert into a hole in the safe! Breakfast terrible - no daily variation , mainly cold meats and cheese. Solid scrambled eggs etc etc . If you required cold milk for cereals or a cup of tea you had to request it! To sum the hotel up- 2 star at best very dated and overpriced-worst hotel that I have stayed at in visits to the Algarve in 29 years of visits."

"Fantastic small boutique hotel just five minutes walk from the beach. Really relaxed vibe, extremely peaceful, and great service. Also, breakfast is excellent, and the pool very picturesque and refreshing in the Algarve heat - never was unable to get a sunbed."
