Ramada by Wyndham Fargo

Well, where should I begin…… Let’s start with the elevator. Only one for the whole hotel. Honestly I have never seen such a tiny, noisy, rickety elevator in my life. It was so small that one luggage trolley, and two people could barely fit in it! Next, our room…. It smelled old, and musty. It is very hard to tell by the pictures that are on the sight. The tv was so small it was difficult to watch as the shows were not formatted to fit that tv. The fridge freezer hasn’t seen a defrost in I don’t know when. Next, the pool…. The water slide was very unstable, the whole pool area was rusty, and not clean at all. I am assuming that there were kids pool parties happening.There was so much screaming and shreaking you couldn’t hear anyone who was speaking to you. Let’s move on to the breakfast area if that is what they call it! You were told not to use the toaster while the waffle iron was being used! My husband threw the tiny bit of food he had in the garbage. I brought my own bread, butter and jam from home. The toaster was a mess. I had to cut off pieces from each slice so it would fit in the toaster. I had to toast it twice to have some colour to it. There was really not much variety at all. Last, but certainly Not least was the staff. They were all certainly not friendly, well except the fellow who was cleaning rooms. He was so pleasant, and spoke to us every time he saw us. Please give that man a raise. While we were out of the hotel my sister got a phone call from a not so friendly woman asking her why she hadn’t checked out of her room. Her tone was not very nice. My sister said they had booked for two nights, they argued with her and said no, she was only in for one, and proceeded to tell her that she should have come to the desk that morning to let them know she was staying another night. She had the email on her phone confirming the two night stay. There were nine of us travelling together. My husband and I have never been in a situation like this before. Sorry Ramada, this just does not seem to be the way to run a hotel. The Wyndham group needs to take a look at this. On the upside, we went to some great restaurants, so that was great. The one we went to for breakfast was amazing.

Very disappointed! You would think a Ramada Wyndham name hotel would be somewhat updated and clean. Very outdated. Carpet in hallways filthy. Had not been vacuumed or cleaned which looks like for years. Dust at wall edges of hallways/doorways filthy with dust. (See photos) Complementary breakfast area was dirty. Breakfast ends at 10 AM at 9:15 AM. I told the lady working the breakfast area there was no more diced potatoes. She said: That’s it no more, they will not all be eaten in time. There was still 45 minutes left for breakfast! 😳 Same food as the day before. Appears to be frozen foods. Scrambled eggs half omelette. Soggy diced potatoes. Front desk people in the evening were very helpful. Needed to get new card key two times in one day, wouldn’t work. Nighttime front desk were very helpful. The bartender in the bar was very knowledgeable and a very nice friendly young man. We make an annual trip to Fargo with friends for the last 18 years. First time at this hotel for a Ramada Wyndham we were very surprised at how rundown and dirty the hallways were. You would expect more from Ramada hotel for the price. Outside the front door, garbage cans were overfilled cigarette butts all over even though there are ashtrays Which were full.. You would think that they could get somebody out front to sweep at least once a week. Will never stay there again.
