An ok hotel very near the train station. They were very short staffed just 2 staff running reception and the restaurant, also very strangely the staff told us not to have their baby cot as poor quality. Appreciate the honesty but would recommend this is sorted

The breakfast is very rich and worth recommending. The environment is very quiet and there is no sound. It is a very good experience. The breakfast is very rich and worth recommending. The environment is very quiet and there is no sound. It is a very good experience.

Room 207 is a large, very comfortable room and has a large double bed with 4 pillows. Thermostat goes down to 19C and widow tilts open to 6” at the bottom so it wasn’t hot and stuffy like hotels often are. Curtains are blackout and effectively light proof around the edges as well. Very clean bathroom with double size shower, no bath. 2 chairs and a table, hot drinks station, hairdryer, toiletries, towels all good. Fast free WI and big flat TV screen. View is over a back lane and small, likely staff car park. No early morning noise or traffic despite the hotel being straight across the road from St David’s railway station and just down an alley from a Wetherspoons with an enormous illuminated beer garden. Paid £81 on 25/7/25. Opted out of the additional cost for breakfast. There is also the option for evening meals and a bar. The staff were all lovely, especially the older one who was still helping everyone at midnight.

as always the mattress was wonderful and give us a good night sleep the only thing to let this hotel down is the lack of parking even though there’s parking over the road. It was sometimes hard to find a space and the spaces are pretty narrow for today’s size of car .

A convenient location makes this a great hotel. It's a bit impersonal with the self service check in and out, but the staff that were on hand were pleasant enough. Parking in the train station carpark opposite is reasonable and easy to pay for. The Mill on the Exe is a 15 minute walk away for an excellent evening meal, and the on-site self-service breakfast was as expected for a Premier Inn.

To walk out of Exeter St. David's railway station after a long journey involving multiple changes and see my hotel straight in front of me was immensely welcome. A fellow traveller had a more complicated route to her hotel by comparison. Again, I was allocated a room on the first floor facing the road and right at the end of the corridor. This had been the same at the Haywards Heath Premier a few weeks back. But whereas there there was no window screening other than the heavy curtains here there were net curtains as well so that normal daylight could enter the room without my being observed from the outside in "goldfish bowl" style. My initial impression of the room was that it was very cold but I fiddled around with the controls and soon had it at a more comfortable level. The room and the bathroom were spotless. The breakfast was more organised than my last visit to a Premier Inn and although I was a little surprised to find tinned strawberries in the fruit selection I still ate them for that retro experience! Soundproofing as regards the outside was excellent and because I was at the end of the corridor I had no irritating fire door thumps every few minutes. A comfortable hotel, very well positioned for those arriving by rail.

Great hotel across from Exeter St. David's station, making for easy access to an early. morning train. The room was very comfy and quiet. Staff was helpful and breakfast good enough. The check in was automated at a kiosk and I didn't really like that. It was a pretty easy walk into Exeter to see the city-maybe 20 minutes. Price was great too.

A one night stay and it was great. Many thanks to Joud at reception for helping us with the room. The room had everything we needed. It was very clean. A good location, right next to Exeter St David's Station.

The Premier Inn Exeter Central (St. David's) Hotel is - as its long but accurate name might suggest - situated just across the road from St. David's mainline railway station, where trains from and to London (Paddington via Reading and Waterloo via Salisbury) and Barnstaple/Plymouth/Paignton/Exmouth/Okehampton arrive and depart. It's also pretty central to all of the visitor attractions in this bustling and vibrant East Devon city, including the main Shopping Centre, Anglican Cathedral, Underground Passages and nearby University of Exeter, all of which can be reached on foot in around 15-20 minutes. A circular road 'bus service connecting the station with the University and city centre sets down and picks up passengers from just outside the hotel. My one-night stay at this modern, well-designed budget hotel met (or exceeded) my legitimate expectations at this price point, with my room costing GBP 86:00 and the all-you-can-eat cooked buffet breakfast GBP 10:99. Checking-in (at 15:00 hours) and checking out (at 12:00 hours) could not have been easier. The staff members whom I interacted with were all friendly and helpful. My room was spacious, comfortable and quiet with a lovely double bed in which I enjoyed a refreshing night's sleep. There was a large shower in the wet room with plenty of hot water supplied at a good pressure. The buffet breakfast, taken in the downstairs restaurant with a great view of the railway station through the picture window, was the standard fare for a Premier Inn, with a choice of breakfast cereals, hot drinks, toast and croissants, fresh fruit plus the usual full English fry-up, which kept me going for the rest of the day. The next time my duties as a student sports administrator require me to visit Exeter, I will definitely stay in this Premier Inn again. It was even possible to connect my camcorder to the flatscreen television via the wall-mounted HDMI socket, meaning that I could watch video clips of sporting events which I had recorded in Full 1080p50 HD!

Clean hotel room but unusable Wifi, error-prone check-in machines and poor quality breakfast. Paid £161.98 for a night and certainly wouldn't book with Premier Inn again.
