The Elms Hotel Spa, A Destination by Hyatt Hotel

What a nice and fun place to stay. Very historic building with unique rooms. We stayed in the Parlor Suite. Bed was so good! The walk in shower was nice but shower head and extra sprayer was installed 8 feet above shower floor making it difficult to get down the hand held. I would recommend a small table to be placed in the bathroom for toiletries. The toilet paper is strange. It’s made of bamboo and is not on a roll but comes out like individual tissues?! The room had a wet bar area with mini fridge which came in handy. Microwave is by ice machine if you need one. The sitting area and the bedroom had very nice wall Mount TVs. The hotel has some small entry doors and elevator but was told this was due to being on the National Historic Register and could not be changed. The grounds are awesome! Seating everywhere. Yard games all about. A great pool and cabanas and lounge chairs. Hot tub and fire pits. The Libby is grand and fun for people watching and board games or reading. Not impressed at all with the Three Owls Restaurant. Way over priced for the quality of food. Paid $12 for a creme brûlée that was about 1/3 inch deep. Not that good. Go outside of hotel to have your meals. Otherwise a great trip. We will be back!

The Elms is a beautiful resort in a quaint little town. The history and atmosphere was absolutely amazing, we had a great time lounging by the pool, playing yard games, and having a great time!

We stayed one night at the Elms, as part of trip to KC to visit family. This is an upscale, historic hotel. The pool and lobby areas are very nice, and my wife enjoyed the spa treatments. My only quibble with the hotel would be the bathroom, which was not up to the standards of everything else. Otherwise, our experience was excellent. If you have not visited Excelsior Springs before, the town has seen better days. The Hall of Waters is nice, and there are a few good stores and restaurants, but not much else to see. You should visit because of the hotel, not because of the surrounding town.

Beautiful grounds and public areas but housekeeping needs help. The lobby and ballrooms were very clean. The restaurant’s food was poor. The coffee shop was friendly, clean and efficient. My room had not been vacuumed well or maybe at all when I checked in. There was pink and black mold in the shower, one of the glass doors was clean the other you couldn’t see through, this should easily be caught on inspection. My friend’s room had no shower curtain and had to request it. Left the ghost tour early, there were a few fun stories and it’s mostly a way to get to see the hotel from top to bottom, the other stories were not great.

The Elms is always a delightful stay. Fin coffee shop, beautiful grounds and pool, amazing spa, and yummy breakfast buffet at the restaurant!

This is the fourth time visiting this hotel for anniversary. They surprised us with champagne and free desserts. The staff went above and beyond to make it a special occasion for us. The pool was beautiful as always
