Super 8 by Wyndham Casper East/Evansville

The room was pretty and clean. I particularly liked the western decor, and I was pleasantly surprised to find our room had a fridge and microwave since we had food and medication that needed refrigerated. They also offer cereal and coffee for breakfast. Plus, the bed was very comfortable. Great value for the price.

There was one staff member that was really friendly, but the rest was a bit off putting. My biggest complaint was the door leading out the parking lot locked from the inside and made it so people staying there couldn’t get out. It’s an extremely dangerous situation to be putting patrons in. My partner and I had to either walk around to another door and hope we could get out or wait for someone that was coming in to unlock the door. That’s such a fire hazard, a dangerous situation if people need a quick escape, or if some is disabled makes the whole place inaccessible. This is a violation on so many levels, to the point where I’ve even considered reporting it. And it wasn’t just me that had this issue, it was any tenant that I spoke to at the door. Everyone was unhappy with it. Outside of that, the times online and what we were told for everything were all wrong. We were told checkout was at 12, online it said 11, but house keeping came at 9 and insisted it was earlier. We were told breakfast was 6-10, when we went at 9:30 it was already put away and we were then told it was actually only until 8 on weekdays and 9 on weekends (the front desk women was very kind tho and did allow us to grab some pantry items). We were told check in was at 3, but when we got there at 4:45 the worker told us she hadn’t even started the check in process and it would take her about 20 minutes, and while that’s not the end of the world it is just one more example of times being all over the place and different from what we were told. You could also hear staff arguing with one another right outside our room multiple times. The tv menu was completely wrong. Some lights barely worked. When we came in there were used toiletries still in the bathroom. We found multiple bugs. Ya know, these are all small things that to be honest I can easily look over… but they build up and make the stay something to just get through rather than enjoy. I truly wish we had had a better experience because my partner and I do come up to Casper often and the location was convenient. Unfortunately, the safety violation, the lack of consistency with timing, and the off putting small things are reasons why would have an extremely tough time recommending this place or staying again. The only thing saving this stay was the kind woman at the front desk the morning we were checking out.
