Beachfront Resort
8.2 (17 reviews)

Beachfront Resort ★★★

📍 F5H6+FVJ, Red Corner, Luganville

"It is not clear whether the room reservation includes breakfast. The order shows that you need to buy additional breakfast, which is hard to understand. So I had to leave the hotel without enjoying the breakfast service, which is a pity. I did not enjoy the solar hot water."

Turtle Bay Lodge

Turtle Bay Lodge ★★★

📍 Turtle Bay, Malwepe

"An excellent stay and excellent diving with Turtle Bay Lodge. Just me and my eldest daughter which was awesome - a proper resort vibe with a nice pool and excellent restaurant and bar. The room and whole place was very clean and well presented, everything you need and everything worked, and super friendly staff. My daughter did her Advanced Open Water with the lovely Yvanah (one of only two female PADI instructors in Vanuatu) and she and Mick and all the crew were fantastic and very professional. Hire equipment was fine no issues, and the boat was fine for short runs to the dive sites (big brand new boat arrives next year!). I finally got to dive the mostly intact RNZAF FU4 Corsair I didn’t get to on my last Santo trip (because I didn’t stay Turtle Bay!). As well as kayaks and paddle boards etc. they also have very new quad bikes and ATVs to rent which surprised me - clearly the owner is happy to invest. The restaurant is open from early till late and the menu is expansive and prices still just in the “reasonable” bracket - certainly delicious and well presented. And the bar makes cocktails… so what more could you want? I’d definitely stay again."

Barrier Beach Resort

Barrier Beach Resort ★★★★

📍 Lot 11 Barrier Beach, Saraotou

"My partner and I stayed at Barrier Beach Resort for 9 nights and we absolutely loved every second. Right from the get go all the staff were incredibly kind, helpful and made us feel at home. The beach at the resort is absolutely stunning, and not to mention you can snorkel straight off the beach! We also had a family of dugongs visit us 3 days in a row, swimming around us on the SUPs and kayaks which was an incredible experience. Special shoutout to Janine and Shawn for their kindness, attention to detail and genuine care. Would highly recommend BBR to anyone visiting Santo, we wish we could’ve stayed longer!"

The Espiritu
8.9 (71 reviews)

The Espiritu ★★★

📍 Main St, Luganville

"We stayed at The Espiritu for it location, the fact it had a Pacific Dive attached to it as well as the look and overall presentation. Our room was comfortable and clean, with all the amenities you need to have a relaxing holiday. It had a nice little veranda to sit at in the evening. The rooms have been revamped. We will definitely be coming back here, the staff are amazing."

"Beautiful views, comfortable clean rooms and delicious restaurant. Best of all are the staff, big smiles and they take great care of you. Kim and Ben make you feel very welcome and are meticulous in ensuring the resort is beautifully maintained. Highly recommended"

Dany Island

Dany Island ★★★★

📍 Dany Island, Espiritu Santo, Dany Island

"Dany Island in Vanuatu is a truly special place. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely surrounded by untouched nature. The island is peaceful, beautifully maintained and remote enough to feel like a genuine escape. It was also an excellent central place to stay. The location was perfect, access was easy and there was so much to do both on the island and around Santo. It gave me the feeling of staying somewhere secluded without being cut off from the experiences I wanted to explore. I love snorkelling, and the reef around Dany Island exceeded my expectations. The water was incredibly clear, the seabed was clean and beautiful, and there were healthy corals and marine life everywhere I looked. You can clearly see how much care goes into protecting the surrounding marine environment. The most memorable part of my visit was seeing a dugong while I was swimming. It was calmly moving through the water only around 30 metres from the shoreline. Watching it in its natural environment was an experience I will never forget. I am so glad I did not miss out on visiting Dany Island. For anyone looking for a peaceful island escape, a perfect base for exploring Santo, exceptional reef snorkelling and genuine wildlife encounters, this place is a must."

Aore Island Resort ★★★★

📍 Road, Aore Island, Luganville

"Aore island resort is a gem! The staff are all so friendly, accomodating and made us feel like family. We will miss them the most! We visited over my birthday and the staff made the day/evening so special, I’ll never forget it. The food was amazing, we were very impressed with the variety of the menu each day and how well priced it was. We had a beachfront one bedroom bungalow which had everything we needed for our family holiday, and was cleaned and serviced each morning. I was aware of the reef at this resort, however I was absolutely blown away by the diverse marine life right at our doorstep and all along the resort beachfront. Plenty of things to do at the resort/on the island but organising a day trip to Santo was so simple, there’s so much more we could have done. I cannot fault this resort at all, we can’t wait to go back. See you soon!"

Beachfront Resort ★★★
"Great option in Luganville, slightly outside town so worth having a car. We rented one through Erick (Erick Williams ) which was delivered to the resort and we left at the airport at no extra charge. We hired a Kia Morning which was tiny and got us around, but in hindsight, due to the potholes, would have opted for a 4WD. We stayed 5 nights in total and started in a family room near the car park and it was musty and noisy so we were very grateful to the manager, Stuart, for his flexibility and moving us to two separate bungalows at the front of the resort. These were very pleasant, facing the water and spacious enough for 2-3 people, with a sink and fridge, ensuite and a lovely place to sit outside. The big pool area was very inviting (pool water quite cool in June), and was a gorgeous place to have breakfast each morning, overlooking the water. You can walk on the beach and in the morning watch the locals trying to net some fish. Breakfast itself was nothing special as there was little fresh fruit to be had and just muffins, white bread to toast and condiments, but it was ok. We ate dinner here once, had the pizza, and it was good. There is a communal kitchen that you might be able to use which meant we were able to cook some much needed veggies (the LCM supermarket in Luganville was very well stocked and catered to foreigners). Staff were very helpful, friendly and rooms were cleaned every day. We had a very enjoyable stay though recommend the standalone bungalows and having a car."

Turtle Bay Lodge ★★★
"Food was lovely. Accommodation was great we stayed in the deluxe waterfront Marquee. Very cosy. Staff were ultra friendly Managers were helpful & really social Taking canoes & kyacks to the Blue holes was the best part about staying at this places. We hired their buggy which was great fun to Champagne Beach & another beach where we found a beach bar restaurant called Chez .... where we got to eat Coconut 🦀. Pool was nice to have because the resort was not actually on a sand beach. But we didnt even notice. I spent time in the swing chair which was so relaxing."

Barrier Beach Resort ★★★★
"This was our first time staying at Barrier Beach Resort for 7 nights and we absolutely loved it. Shaun and Janine, the managers, were incredibly accommodating, nothing was ever too much trouble. They create such a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere that you instantly feel at home and already want to plan your next visit. The staff were all so lovely and always happy, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Our meals were beautiful, and the location itself is simply amazing, peaceful, stunning, and exactly what you hope for when visiting Santo. After visiting Santo many times over the years, this is one resort we will definitely be coming back to. A truly memorable stay."

Aore Breeze ★★
"Aore breeze is a beautiful spot to relax and explore Aore and Santo islands. We fell asleep to the sound of the ocean every night and loved relaxing in the hammock on the balcony. Definitely recommend bringing reef shoes to make the most of the snorkeling right out front. There was plenty of exploring to do and the kids loved getting around on quad bikes and boat. Very friendly staff were happy to help with activities and organizing trips to Santo. We can’t wait to go back!"

"Popped in here for dinner one night as it’s only a short walk from town. Jackie was lovely from the moment we walked in and the setting was lovely (nice lighting by the pool). Limited menu (no starters) but food was fresh and lovely. Good choice of wines and great desserts!"

Aore Island Resort ★★★★
"If you want peace and tranquillity this is the place to be. 2½hrs direct flight from Brisbane on Thursdays and Saturdays ( i believe as we did it a different way so check that fact) you'll land in Santos, A prearranged airport transfer will have you at the jetty in 20min where you'll be greeted with smiles and warm welcomes by the most helpful friendly local people ive ever come across. They will carry your luggage to the awaiting luxury ferry( ok its a tinny with a tarp roof but its 10min so who cares😁) 10min harbour voyage will have you at the resort where you'll again be greeted with smiling friendly people. ( leave your bags with Moses on the boat, he loves carrying luggage especially big heavy ones😄) a quick briefing about the resort and than a beautiful walk along the garden path to your room where your bags are already there. The beach is at your doorstep but not all of it is soft sand. There is a reef right there so in some sections reef shoe( they have a supply at the resort if you haven't got any) are a must as coral is washed up on the shore. There's no AC but you don't need it. With fine insert screens on all the windows and ceilings fan we slept very comfortably. The fridge is only mini bar size so don't bring a big grocery order over, we found we had to put what ever snacks we had in the fridge because of these little micro ants will invade anything you leave out. Not sure if everyone had the same issue but its not a big issue to control and lets face it, it was our fault for leaving bloody nice biscuits out for them. Theres no TV in the rooms ( could be in the studio rooms but not sure) but you won't miss it believe me. Also free WiFi is only available at main area but you still have good 4G coverage in your room, but if you can afford the room you can afford to use your own data. We got complementary breakfast everyday down at the main area, lunch is well catered and dinner is some of the best food ive ever had. The steak i had was the best steak ive eaten in 60 yrs on this planet and extremely well priced. Theres free kayaks and the " luxury ferry" goes back and forth from the island all day and the resort has a list of full day and half day tours they will arrange for you at the same if not better price you'll get in town. Ok so ive babbled on enough in short you enjoy the resort from the management (owners) to the most helpful staff to the mouth watering food. If your visiting santo this is where you need to stay."
