The Shark's Tail Dive Resort ★★★
"We stayed at The Sharkstail Dive Resort for 5 nights and do some dives. The diving was excellent, with clear water, healthy reefs, and a good mix of big and small marine life. The Instructors and Guides were knowledgeable, safety-focused, and great at finding interesting species. The resort itself was comfortable and well run. Rooms were clean, food was consistently good, and the dive facilities were well organized. Staff were friendly and always happy to help. Overall, a fantastic dive resort that I would happily return to and recommend to other divers/no divers."
D'Mei Residence Inn - Naval ★★
"Perfect location and basic amenities. Hot shower and the beds are comfortable. No elevator though. But overall, cleanliness, accessibility and comfort are top notch. You cannot beat the customer service too."
Malapascua Exotic Island Dive Resort ★★★
"Resort is far away for the airport. Otherwise it’s worthy."
Ocean Vida Beach and Dive Resort ★★★
"The hotel was above expectations overall. The environment and sanitation were good. There's a beach right at the door and a dive shop next to it. It's probably one of the best hotels in Mama Island. The free half-hour spa experience was great. I'll definitely stay at this hotel next time I go diving in Mama Island."
West Prime Hotel ★★★★
"Nice hotel."
Kandaya Resort ★★★★★
"I recently retired from working in the Hospitality Industry and was looking for a place to relax in comfort and peace. The Kandaya Resort is second to none when it comes to overall service and accommodations. The ocean view room was amazing and quiet with incredible views. The food and beverage and service was impeccable at their Restaurant. We had 2 spectacular dinners on the beach in a private setup. All of the staff go above and beyond to insure that your stay is amazing from F&B, Front Desk, HSKP and the amazing staff that care for the animals. A Big Thank you to Milamar, our server at the Restaurant, who always went above and beyond with great service to ensure that we had an amazing experience while staying at the Resort and traveling about in the area. Thank you to the entire Kandaya Team for also making our special occasion a memory we will cherish forever. See you again soon."
Buena Vida Resort and Spa ★★★
"The hotel 'Buena Vida' is a few minutes' walk from the beach, but works closely with other establishments right on the beach. For example, you can have breakfast at the 'Ocean Vida' by the beach. The hotel is clean, has a small spa and a small gym. The staff is nice. There is a great Crossfit box near the hotel. There are several diving schools right on the beach, including the Sea Explorers. A really great diving school where we did several dives."
Tepanee Beach Resort ★★★
"The Tepanee Resort can actually be recommended: - simple but clean rooms. Unfortunately, they are a bit noisy and you just have to be lucky with the award. There are bungalows whose terraces are completely on the path with no view - which, in contrast to others, just seems a shame. - a simple breakfast buffet, which unfortunately is only offered from 8:00 a.m. and is therefore wasted money for active divers who are already on the boat. The Filipino dishes here are often good, but the fruit and vegetables are very carelessly prepared. Even if asked, nothing can be prepared here. I would be happy to recommend the resort, especially because of the great location, because it is located on a very beautiful and protected bay that is bursting with biodiversity and offers a retreat for young black tip reef sharks. But here comes the but: - the price for the rooms is too high - The bay is controlled by the owner and staff and care is taken to ensure that snorkelers behave well. What sounds good in itself, however, degenerates into the fact that there is often shouting, whistling and megaphone talking across the bay. An absolutely absurd situation in which the owner of the resort apparently doesn't find any solutions to help beginners in snorkeling who are in trouble (e.g. with floating rings that they can use to adjust the mask/the concrete blocks are already on the ground) - but only in a very disgusting way. There was even shouting back and forth in the bay from snorkelers and owners. Simply unpleasant. My tip: Get a cheap hotel and pay the 200php entrance fee to snorkel on site in the bay. The bay is worth it, but the hotel is not worth it."
