Suites like these can cost several hundred dollars a night in Santa Fe, 25 miles away, but the price here was much more reasonable. Everything about this remarkable Santa Fe Style inn (or is it Spanish Colonial? I’ll let the architects decide) is of the finest quality. Our suite (a very large room) was beautifully decorated with local art and hand-carved furniture, and had a gas-fired Kiva fireplace, a splendid couch, comfortable chairs, and a desk. There was so much to admire -- the hand-carved frame around a mirror, the art in an arch in the wall, the vigas, the tiled floor. The bathroom was also beautiful, and my traveling companion loved the whirlpool tub. Breakfast is served on the first floor of what was once the home of the family that owns the inn. Their collection of local art, pottery, etc., covers nearly every inch of wall space in the living and dining rooms. Breakfast was a burrito, cakes, fruit, etc. The suites were built adjacent to the main house, and you can park right outside your suite if it's on the ground floor. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. Getting there can be a bit confusing. You turn from U.S 285 into the parking lot of Ken’z Cuisine restaurant. We stayed at the inn for three nights. The service was impeccable. The inn is an excellent base for exploring places like Chimayo, Taos, Taos Pueblo, Abiquiu and the Jemez Mountains, as well as Santa Fe. Also keep in mind that Espanola has several wonderful restaurants.

I didn’t find them welcoming and our toilet broke and the person at reception did not seem concerned or said sorry etc It was not a horrible hotel, just could be more welcoming and attentive. I was only taken to my room and was not sure if we there was a sitting area in main building etc. basically, no information was offered.
