The Old Hall Ely

Stayed at the old hall due to the fantastic feedback on here when coming down to the Christmas fayre Staff were lovely and friendly (though we did struggle to find them on the first night when waiting to eat in the orangery) but the gentleman on apologised and was very friendly and informative about the hotel and family. Office staff were helpful and approachable and tried to assist as our room had no consistent cold water, but at least it was hot which would have been worse if we had no hot water. Downside is that there is no restaurant open every night and you can get platters but after eating at other locations these are over priced for what you get, we even had 2 main courses in Ely at a similar establishment and they were cheaper then the platters. Do remember you are in a country house so the noise will travel and you will hear guests coming and going and if you have someone above who is noisy then you will be woken up when they get up. Unfortunately it was too cold to explore the grounds but they looked exceptional and very well kept Thank you to Michelle who served breakfast as she was very professional, friendly and helpful and even saved the day as I had forgotten to pack my charger and we were here for 2 nights but she found one and lent me it for the time I was there. Rooms are clean, comfortable beds and large in size and very good price for the quality of room you get and the way they are kept is a credit to the staff Lovely country house and fantastic approach to the house which was so well kept and stunning. If we had cold water and there was a restaurant orbetter price bar options then I would have rated this as exceptional

Stayed at this lovely hotel for a charity workshop. Very quietly appointed down a long drive in a stunning setting. Arrived in time to check in and after sorting out our room, it was a lovely room, we settled in the bar for a soft drink. The only thing was we would not be back till after 10pm so we had to preorder our drinks for when we got back. These were ready when we got back and were nice but would have been better if bar was open. Great nights sleep followed by a wonderful breakfast in the orangery. This is lovely hotel but is very quiet and would be great if the bar was open to get drinks later. All in all a nice stay at a lovely setting. Would def think of coming back if it was a not so quiet.

Hi It’s a beautiful plays,and playground,peaceful and truly amazing stuff to help .Me and my Husband we had an exceptional weekend and a food ahh incredible just can’t describe how amazing this Hotel is .Angela Turner.xxx

Great hotel very well kept. Only issue was the dining. I had seen a few pics of food and thought nothing of it but they were only serving charcuterie boards for dinner which wasn’t exactly what I was expecting as I thought they’d have had a full menu so had to go out to eat.

Most inviting welcome. Then offered delicious tea and cake. Room was beautifully decorated and spacious, bed extremely comfortable with views over the amazing landscaped gardens. Great breakfast too, good choice of high quality produce.

We stayed here 8th October and I have to say this is without doubt one of the most immaculately kept Hotels we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The welcome received from all members of staff is second to none, the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, needless to say they are spotlessly clean. The food is amazing and the grounds are to a standard of Royal Households Well done to Mrs M and all of her dedicated team …we will be back !
