"FAR- THE DIRTEST place I've ever been- on the second night THEY BITTEN the friend we lost together with the KORIAN and we were running and we couldn't reach him. we left in a hurry and of course there was no mention of financial compensation. plus THEY STOLE ALL OUR SHOES 4 pairs of Nike sneakers - he also had undeclared Roma cleaning staff so that he wouldn't pay as the locals told us the sloppy owner.."

Captain's Seafront Apartments ★★★

"We booked the apartment with a terrace but received a mediocre, narrow, and outdated mini-apartment featuring a decent double bed and a makeshift sofa bed (which couldn't be folded up to create space; a dirty mattress was simply placed over the sofa's small wooden frame). The bathroom is extremely narrow—only as wide as the shower—and water floods the floor whenever you shower. The balcony was unusable; the door seemed designed for children, and we had to squeeze out sideways to access it (even though we are slim). We were two families with children staying in two apartments, both equally mediocre. I do not recommend these Captain Seafront apartments; the photos bear no resemblance to reality... I will attach accurate photos. My advice: choose Vasiliki or even the upper part of Nidri, up in the mountains. Everything here is cramped; there are other accommodation units right next to and behind the building, less than a meter away. This is no way to run a tourism business!"

"I like it very much. It’s very clean. Unfortunately, there is no hot water in the bath at 7:30 in the morning. Others are great. Breakfast is 13 euros. There are fewer types. It is not recommended. You can go to a nearby restaurant"

Rouda Bay Beach Hotel ★★★

"There wasn't sponge and liquid detergent in kitchen to wash the dishes. The kitchen shelves were full with dust. The location is pretty far from the rest of the island. The beach is pebbled and too crowded. The location doesn't offer much to do, actually it's not a village...there is some tavernas, but they also were crowded and if you don't make reservation you can't find a place to eat."

"A warm friendly welcome from check in to unfortunately having to go home. Beautiful location overlooking the marina and a short walk to the center of Nidri. Room was very spacious and well maintained the aircon being a bonus as it was baking hot during our stay. We stayed in a room for 4 people with our balcony overlooking the pool, bar and beautiful views over the marina. The hotel has a lovely pool area and a very well stocked pool bar. You can also enjoy your drinks on the beach across the road which was lovely in the evening watching the moon rise over the bay. A fantastic 2 weeks spent in a great super value for money hotel with a lovely friendly Greek family as your hosts. Would highly recommend a stay at Hotel Oscar"

"This is the second time I've stayed at this fantastic hotel, and as I begin this review, I am just starting my second week here and wanted to share my experience. Firstly, the hotel itself and the rooms are spotlessly clean, which is a credit to the management and the hard-working, unseen team that work tirelessly behind the scenes. The hotel is off the main drag but only about a two-minute walk to all the restaurants and bars. It's very tranquil around the pool, which is what I like, with no loud music bouncing out thank goodness. The rooms themselves, depending on your choice, are all well appointed with excellent beds and linen. Since last year, it's nice to see that there is a constant reinvestment programme going on, with new hairdryers fitted in the rooms and a touch card entry system, as well as a fantastic electronic traffic light system on the door where you can just press green to indicate the room is to be cleaned or red for do not disturb, etc. There's also a new building under construction near the pool, which will contain new outside toilets and showers. (Don’t worry, the work is going on out of season.) The G George is an extremely well-run family business, expertly managed by Maria and Martina, who are both very hands-on and approachable, always on hand. With the lovely Joanna behind the bar, always with a nice smile and enthusiasm—she's a lovely girl with a great command of the English language—I find myself drinking quite a lot at Joanna’s bar because I have a genetic condition whereby my body doesn't produce its own alcohol, so I have to take supplements. 😉 For breakfast, which is always overseen and expertly managed by Maria, there's always something for everyone and a real effort is made to display it all well. In my opinion, it's a fantastic array. At breakfast time, we are greeted by Caroline, the English lady, who is a wealth of information and very hardworking. Just in the last couple of days, we have welcomed a new starter, Elana, who has made a great impression and integrated seamlessly into the team, doing a fantastic job. Enjoy your new journey, Elana.
