"For my personal reasons I booked a specific room two weeks back. On my way to Botswana tree days ago I personally confirmed the booking at the reception. Today on arrival they gave me completely different room in completely different location. According to their explanation the booked room was occupied. It is not the first time when I was facing similar situation locally and internationally. But it is only in Palm Park hotel the person who booked place and confirmed the booking was relocated."

"Our office decided to go have different outing, where we would enjoy in a quite place. We find Palala and the time that we spent there was amazing, game drive, food, spa to name a few. The staff is amazing."

"Terrible experience. We had very little sleep both Saturday and Sunday night as the bar area, despite being closed, appears to be an informal gathering for all drunkards. The noise continued until 4am and management completely ignored the situation. We will not be returning."

"Almost perfect. The accommodation suites around the Rock Lodge are wonderful - our suite was bigger than the average 2 bedroom apartment in Sydney. All amenities including a hot tub and visiting monkeys. Unfortunately friends at the Mountain Lodge were disappointed - the pool was half empty, the shared areas were not clean and the suites were disappointing compared to those around the Rock Lodge and not quite 'luxury'. However, the food was delicious and plentiful, the game drives morning and night were wonderful although we froze one evening as our guide forgot blankets. The evening drinks two of the 3 nights were average, just beer and chips but the last night was magnificent. Staff are wonderful, the guides were excellent, we saw the big 5 and more, including a cheetah mum and her 3 babies. Only downside was patchy wifi and the internal phone system not working meant we got stuck in our suite being under explicit instructions not to walk to the main lodge due to a roaming leopard in the neighbourhood - no way to contact the office for a buggy ride. Also the stunning doors to the suite got stuck and we couldn't get out in time for a game drive, fortunately they came to look for us. The pool area is lovely, the spa excellent and there's even a gym. Overall magnificent with just a few tweaks and maintenance required. Definitely recommend."

"57 Waterberg was simply out of this world! What a magnificent game reserve that proved to be so incredibly luxurious and beautiful. The food was outstanding, the service was next level, our game drives were superb and I would highly recommend 57 Waterberg."

"The Marataba Mountain lodge is a separate location to the main Safari Lodge. When you get to the Safari lodge (after a nearly 5 hour transfer from Joburg), it's a further 45 minutes to the mountain lodge, so its a long transfer. We appreciated the smaller size and peace and quiet of the mountain lodge. Its remote location, with great views, is part of the attraction. it's obviously a much smaller facility that the main safari lodge and that means fewer people and fewer facilities (no shop, no space to walk, small communal area etc). The lodge rooms at Mountain are smaller than the spacious tents at Safari (we briefly visited Safari on our way back). It's also worth noting that you need to drive 45 minutes at the start and end of every game drive to get from Mountain to the main game viewing areas. There is game en-route (especially Rhinos), so its not time wasted, but it did feel like tedious drive after a few days of doing it, especially in the dark after the evening drive. I think you go to Mountain if you want the peace. The service level at the lodge was excellent. However, I have to say that the food was a bit variable. We had some good meals, but we had some poor meals (a beef steak that looked and tasted like no beef steak I have ever had!). Also, cheese and biscuits served with biscuits that were so hard they could barely be broken with hands, let alone teeth. It wasn't all bad, but it was too variable to be considered good."
