Ellis Beach Oceanfront Holiday Park

The beachfront cabins are a delight with the ocean practically on one's doorstep. Beautiful location nestled within the rainforest. Cabins are clean and comfy, a quiet spot for a restful night's sleep. I have stayed here before and will return again.

I was on my own catching up with a friend stayed in cabin 19- small 1 bedroom fully self-contained literally on the beach, clean tidy comfortable. The bed was double bed size not QS. Sofa bed available. Deck had plenty of seating and table Having the ocean waves rolling in on the sand literally 50 meters away was quite the experience it felt like I was in paradise and yes you can swim in the water at Ellis beach. The beach is very long (no big waves) great for walking. Park has the Cook highway behind it so you do get road noise, Staff are very helpful especially the young blonde girl on weekends, and the ellis beach pub and surf club is across the road with Palm coves 5 mins drive away.

We stayed in cabin 32 - one of their newer 2bedroom cabins. Accommodation is excellent. Aircon in all rooms is nice & cold and can be adjusted if needed. Beds are firm but comfortable. 2 King singles in 2nd bedroom (nice surprise for adult kids!) There is no oven in this cabin so BYO airfryer as an alternative option. Bathroom has a good size shower. We had a small view of beach and the waves/ocean passed cabin - but grab a deck chair (provided with cabin) and a short 20sec walk will have you sitting ON the beach in the shade of a palmtree 🥰 Have submitted feedback to EBHP to possibly install a blockout roller blind for front of verandah/patio area that can be adjusted during the morning as sun is very hot and relentless (no trees for shade) until about midday and it makes the patio area very uncomfortable - but in the afternoon it is a lovely space to sit outdoors! This is our 3rd stay this year and we have already booked our next stay in September (beachfront cabin again next time 😍😍) - get in quick as they book out fast! We think the price for what you get is reasonable - if you have a beachfront cabin, you are literally 15m to the water from your front steps and there is nothing blocking your view - simply outstanding!! ❤️ Ellis Beach suffered incredible damage in Dec 2024 due to a cyclone which resulted in multiple landslides that devastated a large part of Ellis Beach - but to look at it today - you would never know anything had happened - tremendous effort to clean up & restore the park & surrounds!! 👍👏👏 So if you want TRUE beachfront cabin accommodation - you absolutely cannot go passed Ellis Beach Holiday Park!! - roughly 30min drive from Cairns - food shopping options about 10min away @ Clifton Beach Shopping Centre on highway (Coles) - great meals & cold drinks @ Ellis Beach Bar & Grill with live music most Friday & Saturday nights (approx 150m walking distance from EBHP) - other takeaway options also @ Clifton Beach Shopping Centre. Port Douglas about 45mins north. You can book tours and reef trips etc @ reception. Why would you go anywhere else 😍... so give them a call - you will not regret it 👌😉😃

The beachfront is beautiful! Unfortunately, that is where the beauty stops. Paid above premium for a caravan site that backs on to a toilet block, (sites 34 to 36) not far from the the main road, and squeezed in like sardines--with no view. Unless you like hearing flushing toilets, showers and traffic noise, this isn't the place for you. We felt extremely uncomfortable with people entering and exiting the toilets and them viewing our van entry. To get some safety and privacy we had to erect one of our privacy screens which created a safer environment for all.

We stayed in one of the 1 bedroom oceanfront cabins and it was amazing- we stayed for 7 nights and thought it was the best location to head for day trips to the Daintree, Cairns and Kuranda. Even in winter our 6 year old was on the beach morning and afternoon. It’s walking distance to a bar and grill which was wonderful for the nights we didn’t have anything planned. The cabin was a good size and had a decent kitchen with a stove top.

Great location. Cabins right on the beach. Clean and well thought out. Great kitchenette with enough to cook the basics. Great full size fridge. Ample shelter from the sun/rain on your big deck, with plenty of chairs. Great service team, nice on arrival and exit. My only issue was that in front of cabin 19 there was some erosion, so some sand bags took away the beach feel and the drainage pipes were exposed. I felt like I was at a work site. It wouldn't stop me from going back, but I wouldn't stay in Cabin 19.
