Garten Hotel

This is a beautiful hotel right on the water. We stayed in the penthouse suite and it was beyond incredible. Every morning we had the traditional El Salvadoran breakfast delivered to our room, it was so delicious! We even had it by the pool on our last morning so we could enjoy the beautiful views and ocean breeze as long as possible. The staff were amazing and always so accommodating. We had an incredible experience learning how to make pupusas in the class they offer! We also had the time of our lives on the waterfall hike excursion. We loved every bit of our trip so much, we can’t wait to go back!

This is EXACTLY what I had in mind for my solo vacation. Perfect place to reset and relax. I felt very safe thanks to the staff and the hotel owner. I did popusa making class the first night and was so much fun! I booked a Moroccan bath and massage which was heavenly! It gets dark early at 6:30pm, and as a solo woman, I do not feel safe walking alone at night. The hotel staff went above and beyond by giving me rides to and from different local restaurants to try for dinner each night. That being said, the food & drinks at the hotel are amazing. I recommend the shrimp scampi and the aguachile - they make everything fresh and in-house (including the pasta). This property has a water filtration system so it’s safe to brush your teeth and not fear getting sick. I stayed in the Penthouse, which has incredible panoramic views. I even got to watch a thunderstorm on my last night. Love it here!

After a long period of travel, I melted in the comfy and clean bed here. The room is beautifully designed and the lighting is tasteful to the eye. It is a luxurious experience right on the water. The yoga on the roof was a highlight as you found a moment of respite while watching the waves in front of you.

Beautiful hotel that had access to pools and the beach. We especially appreciate the staff who helped us with anything we needed, including cooking us some food after hours when we didn’t realize it was late and everything in the area had closed up already. Huge shoutout to them! I will definitely recommend to others and return sometime.

I booked the Penthouse suite for my Husband and I for $425 per night, we were very disappointed in the accommodations. The pictures are very deceiving. The furniture is worn, the shower is stained, the curtains are dirty (some areas even moldy). The sliding doors did not fully close, making us feel like we were outside. There were no amenities for the bath tub, which is outside, no mat, no towels or bath salts. We had one towel each, and did not receive another one even after asking. They don’t open the curtains after cleaning your room, because the curtains don’t fully open to the ocean view that you pay dearly for. The entire hotel shuts down by 10pm. All of the staff leave with the exception of the security guard, it’s completely dark, we need a flashlight to get to our room. The beach offer no beach chairs and there are no beach towels provided. The positive things were the food, it was really good and the staff were friendly. This hotel has potential, but the owners need to make improvements based on the price they are charging. I left feeling ripped off, wrote the staff about it and they told me that they inspected the room prior to me coming and everything was great- completely dismissive. They issued a $66 food credit, although my bill was $1276. There are much better options for much less in the area.

This is a very nice boutique hotel right by the ocean. We stayed in the villas which are on a separate property two minutes away. Private pool rooftop terrace. Restaurant was very good. The staff is extremely friendly and cannot do enough for you.
