Cabañas y Hostel I Keu Ken

Jasmin and Gaston were wonderful hosts. Gave us lots of recommendations, organised our airport transfers, as well as transport to Perito Merino. The vibe in I Keu Ken is fun, backpacker, and social. Musical jams are welcomed, even encouraged! I loved the spontaneous empanada cooking lesson and folklore dance workshops.

While i can see why the hostelers and packbackers enjoy the atmosphere and amenities of this hostel like common room, barbecue, and kitchen, the rooms with private bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. The facilities were adequate - kitchen, bedroom, bathroom - but the quality was not good. Furniture was adequate but of a cheap quality, the walls badly in need of repair and painting and I felt like the entire room needed a deep cleaning. Just a thin sheet covered the mattress and the towels were air dried - personally, I have no problem with air drying as it is more environmentally friendly, but the single sheet was a bit off-putting. Perhaps the pictures of other places in the price range are not as realistic, but I think I would have preferred to stay in a nicer room. Fortunately, it was only for one night. It was close to La Anonima so we were able to prepare for our own breakfast.
