The room is very small, and there is no space for things, even in the bathroom tub. Breakfast ends at 9 o'clock, and the food is average. This is an average hotel experience along the way in Iceland!

Standard icelandic hotel whereby no toiletries provided. Good location easy to find. Nearby has petrol & groceries for top up of necessities. Reception is professional but not friendly and warm.

Das Mittelklassehotel in der der Kleinstadt Egilsstadir machte einen sehr ordentlichen Eindruck, netter Empfang an der Rezeption. Gutes WLAN kostenlos, reichlich Parkplätze kostenlos am Haus. Ein Restaurant ist angeschlossen Unser Zimmer war relativ klein aber modern möbliert mit hygienischem Parkettboden. Flachbild-TV, Kühlschrank und Kaffekocher gehörten zur Ausstattung. Die Strasse und Kreuzung vor dem Haus war zwar bisweilen etwas laut, bei geschlossenen Fenstern aber nicht zu hören. Das Bad war ebenfalls relativ klein mit Dusche (nicht stufenlos), die Toilette leider nicht separat. Im angeschlossenen Restaurant hatten wir mit einer Reisegruppe ein HP-Menu, das mit seiner landestypischen Küche nur zu loben war. Das Frühstücksbuffet war für isländische Verhältnisse das beste, das wir auf der Insel gefunden haben. Das Hotel liegt zwar im Zentrum von Egilsstadir, der Ort ist aber sehr klein und hat nicht allzuviel zu bieten. Ganz toll war freilich der Hesuch im nahen Hot-Pots-Bad mit Zugang in den eiskalten See Lagarffljot. Insgesamt war es unserer Rundreise das beste Hotel.
