Hotel is old and needs renovation. Carpets in the hallways are disgusting and filthy. Smell of smoking in hallways. Staff needs training on how to interact with guests. Breakfast is amazing.

The hotel was very good except the air conditioning system as it is automatic and therefore it si not posibble to control and the room was cold. It is a very important subject fo those come from hot country

Terrific hotel in a great location. Staff are very nice. The food at the restaurant is quite good (loved the salmon dish with hollandaise sauce!). Breakfast was excellent. The room was very spacious, perfect for a family with two children.

Magic pillows in the beds
The best pillows I had on a hotel. And then I travel around 20-30 nights every year and sleep on hotels around the world every year for a lot of years now.

I’ve booked a room with spa bath that didn’t had a bath door.. never ever been in a hotel like this. Moreover i do believe that any room should have a door, not for security purposes but for minimal privacy. The toiler in a isolated space and you need to go on the other side of the room to wash your hands. Not impressed.. Next thing is the heating and ventilation system: after reporting it twice they finally sent someone (qualified) to have a look and decided to leave an electric radiator. First time I’ve reported the heating issue, they’ve sent a colleague (i think is their handyman cause that day he was at reception, next day in restaurant, serving) he ended up in making jokes telling me that if i need more heat they have plenty of blankets in the hotel… but none in my room. Overall i think the food from the restaurant has saved this review and probably will save this hotel in the future. Large portions, fresh, good food quality, smiling personnel and an balanced pricing. I would say that i will probably think twice before booking again on this hotel but i will definitely come for a superb meal anytime.

The room was damp and smells bad. Air does not go through. I booked and paid for 2 nights, but on the first day, the hotel called on the phone when I was sleeping, asking me time to check out. It was hotel mistake but they disturbed my sleep.

Room was amazing, king size bed and bubble bath was top. Breakfast and dinner was very tasty. Staff was very kind. Location next to the highway but not very far from Utrecht and Almere. Was nice stay. Recommend for sure. Price was also cheaper than usally in Van der Valk hotels
