Wonderful Fall Visit The most unique mountain property we've ever stayed at with the most peaceful surroundings. We enjoyed exploring the area around us and visiting local wineries and downtown Hendersonville. The weather was perfect and loved the hot tub! Beds were comfy and we had all the amenities we needed. Five stars, for sure! We had a wonderful time at the Hoot Owl Cabin and cannot wait to return!

5 Day Getaway The cabin is an eclectic & cozy stay for a week. Most of our time was spent away from the cabin, but it's in a good location & the best part was sitting in the hot tub under the stars. The view from the big window out front was beautiful while drinking a hot cup of coffee & the fireplace warmed up the whole place in minutes. There were a few maintenance issues: There are a couple of bricks loose before you get to the wooden stairs. The faucets in the kitchen & the upstairs bathroom were not fastened to the counters. The kitchen sink is a good concept, but oddly shaped & doesn't drain properly, so there is standing water. Get in the before turning on the upstairs shower, or it sprays out. The shower head was also broken & sprays up the wall. While in the hot tub, it shut off 4 times, 2 of them while not running jets or bubbles. The breaker was not overheating or tripped, so not sure what the cause of the outage. We made sure that it was still running for the next few days, but we did not use the tub again after that. The 2x4s under the upstairs mattress is not fastened, some shifted and fell out from underneath while we were on it. We notified Michelle about the faucets and the hot tub as an fyi. We appreciate the promptness of her trying to fix the issues, but we had plans to not be home during the day. These items were expressed that they were not an emergency and would prefer for the handymen to not interrupt our stay. The push made us feel inconvenienced & uncomfortable.

Very rustic getaway Overall, this place was as described. The photos seem to have been taken some time ago and it was a bit more “rustic” than the photos showed. We enjoyed the hot tub immensely and the privacy. The beds were cozy and it was centrally located to many sightseeing locations. Something to be aware of there is not a dishwasher and the sink, while GORGEOUS, was not very practical for washing dishes. We enjoyed the time away.

Home away from home The Hootowl is a such a gem and unique place to stay. My family had so much fun from hanging out in the hot tub, cooking on the grill, hiking in the woods and just relaxing playing chess. I must say the bed was extremely comfortable....we slept so good. Waking up and looking out the window felt like you were in a treehouse. Our boys (15 & 10) can't wait to come back and neither can me and my hubby. Big thanks to Michelle for great communication and providing such an awesome home for our family to enjoy.
