I had specifically requested a high-floor room during my booking at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh, but unfortunately, I was assigned a room on the ground floor. This was quite disappointing as I was hoping for a better view, but the window offered no significant scenery. The room itself was decent and met basic expectations in terms of cleanliness and comfort. The location is great, situated next to a shopping mall and very close to Princes Street, making it convenient for shopping and sightseeing. However, the experience was slightly marred by not receiving the room I had requested.

We are so satisfied with Aparthotel! It is very clean and has everything we need. Especially when you want to stay in the same place for a few days and don't know where to eat, this hotel is equipped with basic cooking ware, rubbish and recycling bins and a dishwasher! Is is also located in between the train station and city centre. When you feel tired you can always go back for a rest before heading out for dinner.

I made my booking through Trip.com, where it was clearly stated that an extra bed could be added to our room for an additional charge of £30 per night. However, upon our arrival at the hotel, we were informed that the room we had booked did not accommodate an extra bed. Furthermore, we were told that a three-person room would incur an additional charge of £40 per night.
The service is extremely terrible and I feel some kind of discrimination from some staff.

Hotel has a very good location, if you travel by tram. It’s basically on the way from airport to city centre, 3-minute walk from tram stop. Room was alright, spacious and with a good view. Cleanliness was acceptable though it had a dog smell on the sofa, carpet and in the toilet, quite unpleasant.
Spa zone downstairs is amazing, wonderful jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, enjoyed it all. Gym also looks nice.
Many shops and even restaurants are in a walking distance, very convenient.
Hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful.

It is situated in a prime location. Everything is easily accessible. The room is cleaned. However, the entrance of the hotel is a bit obscure. It is quite annoying especially when it is raining and you have a few pieces of luggage to carry.
Not full set of amenities is provided.
Other than that, I think it is a good choice for sightseeing around Edinburgh.

It is located inside the University of Edinburgh, with convenient parking. Except for the lack of an elevator, everything else is perfect, but there are also hotel staff who are very enthusiastic to help with luggage, whether checking in or checking out. The front desk service is very enthusiastic and the explanation is very detailed. It's a pity that I left early the next morning and didn't enjoy the legendary great breakfast.

Amazing stay at Market Street Hotel! The room was superbly located just opposite the Edinburgh train station. It is fully accessible via lifts, so you do not have to worry about lugging the luggage through any stairs. It is opposite the train station yet the rooms are soundproof and quiet. GGuest UserLocation in walkable distance from Royal Mile and very close to Arthur's seat trails (think fresh air and stunning 360 views over Edinburgh and surrounding area). The staff were just so incredibly welcoming, friendly and accommodating, wanting to make the stay a fantastic one.Clean.Good smell and great ambient music in public areas. Mattresses and pillows were super comfy.Aesthetic, relaxing and provocative artwork. Loved their sustainability plan.
I had not realised before arrival that the stay includes complementary access to a full blown gym and fitness centre, albeit down the road.Brilliant! Loved the small but good food choices available and the delivery was true to their photos, brasserie area or otherwise;no tray charge if you want to stay in the room! Will be coming back for sure, thank you, The. Scholar! (Tried both Single, and also Deluxe Double(King bed). Both great and king adds extra if twosome!
JJamesThis hotel was great!
Location was very good, close to main tourist attractions like the Royal Mile and close to major bus routes if you don’t feel like walking.
The room felt very spacious and comfortable.
It’s near great Chinese restaurants that someone who lives in China appreciates as the restaurants are run by Chinese people and the food tastes authentic and delicious.
They also sell their own gin that is made on site and the gin is really good! If you like gin, try their 1505 and then buy a bottle. Very worth it!
CCookieFDWe stayed at Wilde just before New Year and we were not disappointed. The location is fantastic. Just behind the castle and around the corner from Grassmarket. The staff were fantastic, from the minute we arrived till the minute we checked out. Nothing is an issue to them. The apartment was both modern and well equipped. I would definitely return, but would get a room on the 1st floor. As the lower rooms you can hear people above moving furniture etc. Not the company's fault, just inconsiderate guests that you can't choose!

VVivLuWe arrived in the morning and the room was not ready yet. We were allowed to leave our luggage in the storage room. The check in was smooth, the room is big, the staff are friendly and helpful. The only minus point was the air conditioning was not functioning well in the room and the temperature could not be controlled from the room. It’s summer so the room was quite stuffy. Overall was good.

AacacacWe enjoyed our stay fully at this apartment hotel! They’ve got most of necessary kitchen stuffs so it was very convenient to cook at home. One of the big thing was they have a washing machine which was fantastic as we stayed here for several days so we definitely needed it.
When we arrived a receptionist made a mistake to give us a wrong room without any bathtub although we made a request at the time of reservation. However when we informed the receptionist she willing changed the room for us which was very kind. We therefore enjoyed everyday bath as we needed to take so it was quite helpful.
For cleanness it was over all clean but the floor was a hit dirty…and one of the drawers of one bed room had grains in it so it wa a bit weird…
But other than that we had a wonderful stay and when we come back to Edinburgh we will defuse the same hotel again!
At the time of check-out the receptionist kindly helped us to stay 1h longer which was very helpful, he was very kind and friendly.
Location was great very close to bus stops and tram as well as train station of Haymarket. We didn’t need to go to Edinburgh main station!
Wish there was a small convenient store nearby just to get something simple for drinks/food.
Thank you for the lovely stay!

KKatrinaReally enjoyed our stay. The gym and the pool were lovely! Room clean and great shower. Super family room. The food at dinner was pricey but very big portions for kids.
GGuest UserAwful hotel that is definitely not 4* and the service is not at Hilton level at all….
The hotel goes under the renovation and there were only 2 lifts with queues and they are also used by the staff too
We had a room for 3 people and had all set up for two people only, the room was dirty with hair in the shower and the ceiling.
When I took the shower the pipe was blocked and the water started to leak to the bathroom… yes they sorted the problem quite quickly but still was not great experience
There were no slippers and bathrobes. I asked for x3 slippers and they brought only one pair. I asked again and they brought only one pair again. On the third time they brought two pairs…. When I asked for 3!!! And still no bathrobes. We asked for additional blanket and it was in a random location after the room was cleaned.
The room was cleaned badly on the next day we stayed. My pajamas was thrown elsewhere and I found it on the table, the towels we put on the floor to be replaced were fold dirty on the shelves… the blanket was in a random location and the cleaner did not pay any attention at all left the room dirty. Very disrespectful
I felt that I had to beg for the things we are supposed to get in this kind of hotels. Shocking!!!
Yes they compensated with a complimentary breakfast which was good but still the service was bad. They sent the cleaner and by the time she came we were already sleeping. And she did not speak any English … very disappointed
