Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood
4.2/5109 Reviews
Edinburgh Old Town
The hotel is in a fabulous location. However, the room was not very clean including the bed sheets and the internet rarely worked. The rooms are large but poorly designed (no usb outlets, only one outlet where a converter could be placed, heated towel rack in which could only hold one towel and would burn the flesh off of anyone that touched it-but was the only towel rack available). I understand it is an older building but the mold in the shower and the air systems could use some work. I absolutely LOVED Scotland; however, would not stay here again.
Residence Inn by Marriott Edinburgh
4.4/591 Reviews
Three people stay in one room, and the sofa bed can be turned into a single bed. It is a 12-minute walk from Edinburgh Castle, the church, the royal mile, and the library, and there are shops along the way. The hotel breakfast is a standard British breakfast, with sausages, eggs, ham, bread, cheese, cereal and fruit. The hotel also provides free self-service washing machines and dryers, but you need to queue up to use them. The room has a microwave and dishwasher, a refrigerator, and a safe. There is a Malaysian restaurant next door. I highly recommend this hotel.
Malmaison Edinburgh
3.9/577 Reviews
This hotel is historic and grand, I highly recommend it. Was once the Harbor Master's house for the port of Leith and it truly holds all of the charm of a historic building, but with many cool upgrades! The area is really charming, just off the water and a fairly quick bus ride to all the downtown sites. Every single member of the staff from the restaurant, to housekeeping to the front desk really went out of their way to be kind, helpful and attentive. This was a trip of a lifetime for me and they truly made my visit to Edinburgh all the more. I highly recommend The Malmaison. Thank you so very much for an excellent stay.
Hilton Edinburgh Carlton
4.2/5117 Reviews
Edinburgh Old Town
I really enjoyed my stay at the Hilton Carlton, reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very central to everything right in the heart next to the busy bustling city centre. My room I booked was a King Deluxe very spacious, clean, quiet room my en-suite bathroom was a wet room lots of space, I found no fault with my room. I ordered the continental breakfast in the morning staff were efficient, and the buffet breakfast offered gave a lot of good quality choices unlimited hot drinks, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, toast, plenty on offer. I used the express checkout box as I was leaving in the morning there was a long queue as many guests were checking out so that suited me thank you so much to all the staff I had a wonderful experience.
The Balmoral Hotel
4.8/5128 Reviews
New Town
On the first day, I booked W Hotel in advance with Ctrip and was charged 4800 a night (booking 1800). The room was average and the second day I stayed in the Balmoral old-school hotel. The room was classic and atmospheric. The service was attentive and the details were perfect. The price was stable and very good to come next time. Would also consider staying here
Aparthotel Adagio Edinburgh Royal Mile
4.3/5100 Reviews
Edinburgh Old Town
Before check in this hotel, I was little concerned about it since there’s couple negative comment about this hotel. I believed only some room has issue but my room is perfectly fine! The water temperature is great and no other issue. The breakfast is very good, suggest you going down to the breakfast area around 7 if you want to get hot food and quiet breakfast time~ On the other hand, it’s an apartment, so you need to throw your rubbish away, and better to bring personal cleaning equipment as well. It’s a 9/10 rating, it would be great if they fix another washing machine so don’t need to wait for it.
