Clocktower Suites

Only a kettle provided, no toaster and no table high power point to boil it on safely so we boiled water on the floor for our tea and coffee using an extension lead that also runs across the entrance door to a mini bar fridge. Shame that these omissions spoilt our stay in what is a lovely building. We learnt later that a general access kitchen is available? But no safe power point in the room where the kettle is placed unless we should have taken everything into the bathroom?

We stayed in the exchange suite, management provided us with an early check in of 12.30 so we could make a 1pm lunch. The entrance via the Carpark isn’t very inviting and you have to exit through the same way if the hairdressers have closed and locked the front gate. The room was large and had double glazed frames over the old windows that helped with outside noise, which wasn’t a problem it was the noise coming through the adjoining doors to other apartments that was the issue. Management need to seal those doors (I rolled up a towel and pushed it into the bottom of the door) it’s a good 1.5 inch gap. No fly spray to kill the cockroach in the bathroom and the smell coming up from the drain needs urgent attention. Bed was a double and very comfy Magazines very outdated and remotes to aircon needs urgent attention replacing this room could also benefit from a full length mirror, lighting in bathroom not great.

This boutique hotel is described as luxury which it is not in our opinion. The building itself is very grand but the inside resembled an abandoned shell from rear entrance we had to use . The cream carpeted stairway depicted in website images was not what we experienced. We booked the Halliday & Walker Apartment. Entrance first impression was unemptied bins / discarded supermarket trolley then via concrete dusty entrance way (past abandoned hair dresser salon) . The stairs were just dark dusty concrete with very shabby brown balustrade. Near our apartment door was a wall of old sticky tape remnants.. can only assume a picture taken down but never replaced . The apartment had very musty smell that we could not get rid of...empty fragrance diffusers in the rooms - Unfortunately the windows could not be opened ,aside from the rear bathroom , and are covered in cobwebs making for very unpleasant "view" The floorboards were in very bad condition ..notably a large black stain as soon as you enter. The kitchen , bedroom and bathroom were all well appointed - lovely bathroom supplies ! and very good size. Only issue was lack of hot water in the shower - no pressure even with hot turned fully on Missing TV Remote for bedroom tv and sink plug ( as noted on other reviews) still not replaced . Staff that we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. The Cafe downstairs was closed (new Management?) and this also added to lack of atmosphere as it was always thriving on our many previous visits to Echuca Lovely building with great potential but really needs a revamp. All dull yellow and brown walls and fittings without any pictures on the wall / colour to break it up . We are trying to be fair but want to leave honest review so this glorious building can live up to its wonderful potential . Again the staff were wonderful . Thank you

Convenient place to stay close to town. A bit old and needs painting. Mirror was too high in bathroom for my 5foot self to do makeup and no other mirror

We stayed 2 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Beautiful restoration of the historic post office building. Our suite was large and well decorated. The king size bed comfortable and shower hot. Continental breakfast served every morning in what was the mail sorting room. All guests eat at one table. Conversation was interesting and flowed easily. Food selection was great. The host Namoi very friendly and eager to assist and provide insights about the property, town and local attractions. Highly recommend

Fabulous property, loved the atmosphere. Had an excellent stay.
