Dawsons Game Lodge

We had an amazing time staying here in the cottage. We did a morning quad bike drive to see the animals which was also brilliant, we are all looking forward to coming back again in the future.

Management Team retreat The rooms were excellent, especially at the Lodge. The homestead was good too. Service by staff was exceptional.

The stay was pleasant. Off the beaten road for peace and tranquility. The main rooms are nice and comfortable, with a fire going for the cold winter nights. Staff was super friendly and the food was decent.

The place is quite, peaceful, value for money, the food was delicious and staff friendly. The activity we choose was a game drive, although they do not have the big 5 but it was fun to have done game drive with them. The person who was driving knew a lot about animals. We will definitely come back again

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights at that start of our South Africa trip and it was absolutely fantastic. Around a 3 hour transfer by road from OR Tambo airport, the lodge is in a gorgeous setting. We were greeted warmly on arrival and stayed in a huge suite complete with fireplace, an outdoor terrace with stunning views and a great free standing bathtub and separate shower. The bed is enormous and one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in; the staff perform a nightly turndown service and light the fire for you. We were on full board basis that consists of a wonderful breakfast of yoghurt and granola followed by your choice of cooked option, lunch which was two options daily, high tea with savoury and sweet snacks and then a three course evening meal. We are foodies and have to say the food here really was excellent - especially the desserts! Game drives, quad biking, fishing, massages are all extra - there are no big 5 here but there are sable antelope, zebra, impala, springbok, vervet monkeys, wildebeest and deer- and you can walks freely amongst them and it is simply glorious. The activities are very well priced- we did a game drive, quad biking and massages and for two of us it was excellent value. The bar is also great value for money- we enjoyed our stay here immensely and would recommend it to anyone- the staff are wonderful and friendly as well!

The lodge is situated in a beautiful environment where several animals gaze the farm. We took a 1.5-hour bike ride during which we saw all the animals and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food is excellent, well presented, and delicious. The bartender is really nice, however the wine selection is somewhat limited. When we initially entered our room, someone had taken a nap on the bed and forgot to replace the pillows so we would not notice. This is unacceptable, and we should have requested a new room. For a five-star lodge, air conditioning in the rooms is required.
