Not a good hotel. The rooms are very dated, with furniture and fittings that look like they haven’t been updated in decades. Most things are either broken, worn out, or barely functional. There is no air conditioning, which made the stay very uncomfortable. The rooms are consistently 5–10 degrees warmer than outside, and the old, drab furniture just adds to the stuffy, claustrophobic feeling. As the other reviews have said, the hotel is basically half of a building site. Construction starts early in the morning and is extremely noisy, which completely ruins any chance of rest or relaxation. The location is also poor. It’s right on a main road, so there is constant traffic noise, day and night. To make things worse, the only way into town is via a narrow, dark road that takes about 20 minutes to walk. Not convenient at all. Service was very mixed. A few members of staff were polite and helpful, but others were shockingly rude. At times, staff were openly disrespecting each other in front of guests, which made for an awkward and unprofessional atmosphere. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Outdated, uncomfortable, badly located, noisy, and with inconsistent service.

A very beautiful hotel in a very beautiful setting. It was the second time and certainly not the last. Excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Also nice wine. At the rooftop luxury wellness and pool. You can choose between many types of sauna.

Where to start. The staff is friendly and professional. Breakfast is large and delicious The rooms are nice and comfortable I did not use the spa and pool this time, but if you want to, they have these too. And we e got a couple of bikes to explore Durnstein. Not convinced yet? The full board menu is also excellent!

Beautiful hotel with spacious and tastefully decorated spaces and rooms. Rooftop wellness area with a relaxing view. New construction activity was not perceived as disturbing. The location at the foot of the vineyards means it's directly on the Krems-Melk road with corresponding traffic, separated only by a quiet railway embankment. Rooms without air conditioning mean open windows with street noise. Rooms above the smoking terrace are not recommended. The service is supposed to be over after 10:00 PM – no one cares. Breakfast really had an above-average and good selection. Dinner: Disappointing, because the salmon tartar starter was more of an attempt but not well-executed, i.e., without seasoning, and the main course had a wait of an hour. Explanation: Communication was broken! The restaurant was visited by a group and a few couples. This wasn't Austria. We dined at the Schlosshotel for the next few days with excellent service and imaginative cuisine. Nevertheless, a beautiful hotel with potential for improvement, with appropriate management. The staff, by the way, was exceptionally polite, except for one senior who shuffled around without greeting.

The hotel is in a good location for excursions into the Wachau area. We stayed in the new part of the hotel. The room and bathroom are great and very spacious with a large balcony and a beautiful view of the Danube. The breakfast buffet is very extensive and there is always plenty of food. The evening meal selection, however, was very poor.

Unfortunately, with a Uniqua insurance voucher, we were put in a musty, run-down room in an old building. Very disappointing, shabby carpet and old, musty furniture! The balcony had cracked, discolored wood! Everything in the house was actually great, but we'll never go back because of the room!

Due to Corona measures, there was not enough staff in the hotel or in the restaurant or service. This limited the enjoyment greatly. Large room with balcony overlooking the Danube. Pool on the roof for hotel guests. Breakfast in buffet form.
