Blue Waters Hotel ★★★★
"Didn’t like the location as it was not in a clean area. The breakfast was ok as there was a variety of dishes to choose from. The room could have been a lot cleaner, the curtains in the room were dirty and needed cleaning. Every time we took a shower there was water all over the floor because it leaked."
The Royal Hotel by Coastlands Hotels & Resorts ★★★
"Great facility with a very spacious room, friendly staff and great location whether you are using your own car or public transportation."

268 on Ridge Guesthouse
"This accommodation is basic but neat and comfortable. We arrived late in the evening but there was someone waiting to receive us. The garden rooms are small but we were just looking for a decent shower, toilet and a comfortable place to sleep. There is DSTV. The parking was fine and safe. Some items like furniture may need some repair or replacement. I can overlook the minor repair issues based on the need just to have a clean and neat place to sleep over"
Point Waterfront Apartments
"This has to be the best place we have booked in Durban. The apartment was very clean, the have cleaning services they come everyday. Gugu and Pat amazing souls they were very helpful. Loved that it's near the beach and uShaka marine. We really loved our stay and definitely will be coming back"
Roseland House
"Smaller than expected. As you walk in. Greeted by a nasty disgusting sweat stained couch that looks like it was brought from a dump. When I asked the host to please bring a blanket to cover the couch. They said sure thing. And never returned. Toilet was cracked. Shower door on last legs. Bedroom and bathroom the walls and ceiling where moulded. Bed had stains in it. The blanket ontop of the bed was very used and abused. Then other tenants just come home at all times of the evening and morning making hell of a noise. 3 good things. Bed was comfy. Shower was amazing besides the door. And Sanele who checked us out on Saturday morning was very very pleasant to deal with. "
Casa Ridge Self-Catering
"True self catering - hosts left us to ourselves though they were available when needed. Good quality property. Quiet and peaceful."
Beverly Hills
"It’s always a pleasure staying here, the hotel is clean, smells good and exceptional service ♥️"
AmmaZulu African Palace
"Excellent accomodation and in a great location. Very peaceful and relaxing. I definitely will be back"
Cowrie Cove Guest House
"This is a fantastic guesthouse/hotel. The rooms are spacious, the backyard is right on the beach, breakfast is cooked by a professional in the morning, and there's a swimming pool. Unfortunately, it was too cold to swim, but overall it felt like excellent value for money."
Protea Hotel Fire & Ice! Durban Umhlanga Ridge
"A very good hotel to stay in when you are in durban .surrounded by nice resrurant and close to the mall I Had one of the best breakfast buffet and they make the best currys"
Sanchia Luxury Guest House
"It’s always a pleasure staying at Sanchia, the location is ideal. The price is affordable and the host is super helpfully. "
Suncoast Hotel & Towers
"The hotel is clean and smells good. It is in a good location with a direct enterance into Suncoast. The room we were given was not the room that was showed in the pictures. The room should have had a bathtub as seen on the pictures for the room on trip.com, but the room does not have a bathtub. It's very disappointing considering that I booked it for the bathtub. When I went to ask reception about it, all she did was say that it is trip.com's fault for using the wrong pictures. She then offered me a room with a bathtub, but we had to pay more. I didn't take her offer, how can they ask a customer to pay more when they made the mistake and have the product shown incorrectly? The room did not have toothbruhes. I had to ask at reception for two toothbrushes, they only gave me one and said that they will send another one to the room later. The toothbrush never came. At check in I had signed for room 327, but at that time the room was not ready. Eventually while we waited we got the key cards and it had two numbers written on the envelope- 327 and 329. 327 had a single line going through it so we naturally assumed the room is 329.The door didn't open when we inserted the card into 329 but it did open on room 327. While we were sitting in the room I was contacting trip.com's customer service and someone else just managed to open the door with their card. Later, the reception called us and told us to just stay in that room because they had messed up. There is some construction happening on the one floor of the hotel and it is an eyesore to look at from the upper level, tiles are removed there id furniture still there covered in dust. Overall, this hotel is extremely overpriced and the location is not enough to justify the highprice. Other hotels charge less and actually have rooms with bathtubs as advertised. Stay here if you are looking for disappointment and a money waster."
McAllisters on 8th
"I love this place. It is simple and clean. Nice they have tables and chairs outside by the pool to chill at night. Location is great! It is near Florida Rd. So this place is surrounded by restaurants. The staff is super friendly. I forgot to take photos of the room. The room is clean and I love the room design. Great value for money too! Will definitely go back."
The Capital Pearls Hotel
"They put us on the highest level which I didn't like but the hotel was busy. Other than that it was a pleasant stay."
The Oyster Box
"Am Samke Phewa, My cousin Ntokozo and I just completed an incredible stay at the Oyster Box hotel( Checked in Wednesday the 2nd and checked out Friday the 5th June 2026) . What a wow!!! I would recommend it anytime any day. From the moment we drove in, the staff at the entrance was so helpful, with feel at home greetings, warm welcoming smiles while directing me to park, offloading our luggage and escorting us to the reception area, what a top to the T attention!!! I would like to extend my thanks to the Reception staff who welcomed us with complimentary drinks, treated us with professionalism and genuine care. A special Thank You to Nonto and manager( I've forgotten her name, beautiful dimpled young lady) at High Tea, they made us feel incredibly welcome and ensured we had a wonderful experience. A special Thank You to Julian, who chauffeured us for two conservative evenings. His friendly personality, immaculate vehicle, soft background music, and engaging conversation made every journey aa pleasure. We were also delighted by the thoughtful touches in our room, including the beautifully prepared decor and complimentary gifts made our birthday very special. Every staff we met with and engaged with during our stay truly understands the meaning of exceptional hospitality and they contributed in creating a very lasting memory for me and my cousin. Even though i have forgotten some of their names, you guys on duty during our arrival, breakfast room time, high tea time, by the pool side time, room service, am thankful to all of you for contributing in making our milestone celebration incredible. We looking forward into coming back again in the near future"
Protea Hotel Durban Umhlanga
"It's very close to the beach, very safe, I like it here. There is also a very delicious steak house nearby, and some seafood restaurants. There is food everywhere, very delicious, and the price is not high."
Royal Palm Hotel
"The accommodations were highly satisfactory, providing a comfortable and welcoming environment. The housekeeping services were exceptional; however, a minor concern arose regarding the cleanliness of the bathtub. Aside from this isolated issue, the overall experience was very positive."
