Royal Ushaka Hotel Morningside ★★★
"The pillows were dirty and had stains. Used toilet paper. You could hear everything happening on the other room"
Onomo Hotel Durban ★★★
"Hostel has great room service, great customer service experience and team ."
Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani ★★★★
"The service is no longer good . I had a bad service experience. I asked for my room to be cleaned at 8:30 am and I ended up cleaning it up myself. I complained but my matter was not fixed , I got a call that the manager will talk to me about it. Never head of him again."
Road Lodge Umhlanga Ridge ★
"It was a good stay. Room was small but clean. Not much storage place for your belongings, no safe and no hair dryer. It was very convenient as it is right next to Gateway."
The Balmoral - Halaal ★★★★
"Beautiful hotel, aesthetically pleasing with clean comfy room. Great location, short walk to the beach. The breakfast was delicious and had variety."
The Royal Hotel by Coastlands Hotels & Resorts ★★★
"The hotel is located in the heart of Durban. Pleasant location, friendly staff. Excellent restaurant, with pleasant, relaxing music playing in the evenings. The rooms are spacious, but the furniture is dated. There is a shower and bathtub. Hot water is available 24 hours a day. Daily cleaning. Good views from the windows."
The Capital Pearls Hotel ★★★★
"Despite we haven’t sea view room, it was nice stay in this hotel"
Coastlands Umhlanga Hotel and Convention Centre ★★★★
"Had a visit to Coastland Umhlanga for a business engagement and had the pleasure of being served by Lester at the Bar. What a gentlemen and the service was absolutely fantastic"

Parade Hotel
"Great customer service. The place is clean and tidy. It’s spacious. It’s right in front of the beach. Has a luggage space."

"This accommodation is basic but neat and comfortable. We arrived late in the evening but there was someone waiting to receive us. The garden rooms are small but we were just looking for a decent shower, toilet and a comfortable place to sleep. There is DSTV. The parking was fine and safe. Some items like furniture may need some repair or replacement. I can overlook the minor repair issues based on the need just to have a clean and neat place to sleep over"
The Edward
"Pleasant stay - Monday and Tuesday 19 and 20 Feb 2024. Was greeted by a porter who assisted with suitcase from where I had parked my car across the road. Check in staff were friendly and efficient. I decided to park my car in the underground parking offered by the hotel which does come at an extra cost. Both porter and reception staff were realistic around security and gave good advice. The hotel while positioned "centrally" along the Durban beachfront is more on the south side and just one block away from the main street from the city centre and this street corner does attract all sorts of individuals. If going for a walk - make sure all valuables like cell phones / wallets/ purse are not visible - tuck these under clothes. Also don't wear flash jewellery or fancy watches. Room was spacious and clean - comes with a small balcony. I was somewhat concerned in being allocated a room on the first floor where I would be disturbed by noise from the street. This did not happen - room is fairly sound proofed and there was no disturbance at night, so slept well - but noting that I stayed on a Monday and Tuesday - not sure if the same silence would be experienced over a weekend. The airconditioner was silent and worked well. Bathroom was somewhat scanty with toiletries given that this is marketed as an upmarket hotel - in fact the Blue Waters - north of the beachfront has an offer more toiletries and gives guests chocolates and large bottle of water on arrival. No chocolate and the smallest bottle of water is provided which you find in the bathroom. As I did not make use of the small water bottle offered it is not known if this small bottle gets replaced each day. I brought in my own water bottles as a I prefer 1.5 litres. Hot water from shower is almost instant so all good from that point of view. Wifi was a little unstable but that is because of load shedding that is being experienced by country. The food from the dining room / restaurant if you want to eat lunch or dinner at the hotel is good and delicious. The breakfast buffet is quite varied with lots of choices."
Royal Palm Hotel
"Not very good. It seems quite old; the room's facilities look outdated, the floor isn't clean, and there's a musty smell. There are photos of Emperor Kangxi and his empress hanging in the living room, which looks rather eerie. The room itself is quite large, though."
Suncoast Hotel & Towers
"Good location, friendly staff"
Sanchia Luxury Guest House
"I had a wonderful first stay at Sanchia Luxury Guesthouse. When I checked in, I liked the reception; the staff was warm and inviting. The room was clean and spacious enough. "
Cowrie Cove Guest House
"I’ve been coming to Cowrie Cove Guest House for years, and every stay has been an absolute pleasure. The guesthouse is stunning, full of charm and has a Bali feel to it. My personal favorite detail is you get two keys: one for your room and one for the beach. Recently, the guesthouse came under new ownership, and I’m delighted to say the new owners are just as wonderful as the previous ones. The atmosphere hasn’t changed, and it still feels like a home away from home and a place where you are welcomed like family. Cowrie Cove truly offers comfort, luxury, and that personal touch that keeps me coming back."
The Oyster Box
"Sakhile is such an asset to the hotel, he made the trip so enjoyable and he has the most incredible people skills."
Roseland House
"Smaller than expected. As you walk in. Greeted by a nasty disgusting sweat stained couch that looks like it was brought from a dump. When I asked the host to please bring a blanket to cover the couch. They said sure thing. And never returned. Toilet was cracked. Shower door on last legs. Bedroom and bathroom the walls and ceiling where moulded. Bed had stains in it. The blanket ontop of the bed was very used and abused. Then other tenants just come home at all times of the evening and morning making hell of a noise. 3 good things. Bed was comfy. Shower was amazing besides the door. And Sanele who checked us out on Saturday morning was very very pleasant to deal with. "
Radisson Blu Hotel Durban Umhlanga
"Nice location... Center of restaurants and next to brand name departmemt store. Breakfast is excellent. Highly service mind staffs."
City Lodge Hotel Durban
"The perfect hotel to stay at when visiting Durban to watch a cricket match at Kingsmead. Room was spotlessly clean and crisp white linen. Very friendly staff and safe parking. Would highly recommend this hotel."
McAllisters on 8th
"I love this place. It is simple and clean. Nice they have tables and chairs outside by the pool to chill at night. Location is great! It is near Florida Rd. So this place is surrounded by restaurants. The staff is super friendly. I forgot to take photos of the room. The room is clean and I love the room design. Great value for money too! Will definitely go back."
Teremok Lodge & Spa
"We had a lovely Anniversary week-end and were so looked after by the Teremok Team. The breakfast was great and the daily muffins on offer were a real treat. We loved the Milkwood room and the beautiful garden. We will see you again!"
