Better than expected!

Cozy Authentic Lodge
Cozy authentic rooms in a delightfully traditional town. There’s nothing plastic or ultra-modern about this lodge…and that makes it perfect. If you’re going to Dunsmuir, you love nature—rivers and forests and mountains and fresh air. And you’ll love the Dunsmuir lodge.

The air is set at 71 for all rooms and is run off one central unit meaning that there is no thermostat in your room. Given that we booked the room to avoid camping in the heat and ended up with the room at 79 degrees when we went to bed we weren't thrilled after spending $400 for 2 nights. There was also a spiderweb on the bed, the shower had to be very carefully adjusted or it would go back to being cold, the front door was extremely hard to open or close, and my mom got stuck in the bathroom for a couple of minutes due to a faulty door knob. The surrounding area is beautiful however and it was very nice to have a fridge and freezer although it was odd to have to go outside to use the microwave.

we enjoyed our stay it was quiet and comfortable got extra towels as asked for
I was amazed there was no phone in the room in case of an emergency since not everyone has a cell phone and didn't like the fire stick it was to confusing to use

Beautiful area with beautiful views Excellent bakeries with delicious bear claw pastries. Delicious sugar cookies too. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
