We spent 2 days in the hotel for Birthday and soon to be mum. The hotel is nice and clean. The room is big (bit outdated though) and clean, with all amenities and very accessible. (No sound on tv) The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and various. Dinner was fine. Only thing is that reception never told us that we should book a table at the main restaurant, and it was fully booked so we ended up having dinner at the bar downstairs. It was fine and it is pubs food, not what we wanted. The Spa is very nice, I had a massage, it was amazing, haven't felt like this for a long time. Overall, we had a nice stay, but better to come on weekdays. It gets really packed on weekends.

Was all going gd until we arrived at the restaurant the receptionist booked us into for our evening meal. On arrival staff could not find the booking! We were told to wait over in the corner while they seated other guests ! The staff told us we had no booking so marched us out of the restaurant and up stairs to another area to eat it was v busy and service quite slow. Payment for the meal had to be made there & then as receptionist had not added my card to our room!! We spoke to the receptionist that evening she apologised & said she’d speak to staff who checked us in. Nxt morning on check out no mention of lost booking so when they said was everything ok I said except for the non booking of table last night. Oh yes I saw that on your notes !!! Just an apology.

This was my second thing this year staying with my husband in Dunboyne Castle Hotel. I also stayed for a night with my girl friends. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. We ate both in The Ivy Restaurant and The Terrace Lounge and food was delicious. The lady that is in the restaurant is so lovely, I didn't get her name, (blonde hair with glasses) & the bar staff were lovely too. We didn't have a treatment in the Spa, but it's been done up so next time hopefully. We did spend time in the Thermal area which has also been renovated recently and it's a really lovely way to spend an hour or so. Breakfast was also really good with plenty of choice. We will definitely be back, it's not too far for us to travel anyway Thanks to all the staff & management for a lovely stay

Always great it’s our third stay here! Break away from the kids and their spa facilities are marvellous. We found the portions on main plates rather mean, like two dessert spoons of pulled pork in a bap is a starter not a main lunch or dinner.

A mixture of good and bad points. Upon check-in, they had the wrong type of room booked versus my reservation. That took 2 people and some amount of time to correct. The room itself was nice although various pieces of furniture were chipped and scratched. The good news of an old fashioned room was a big bath tub, not just a shower. Bad news was no soap to use for face, just body wash gel nailed to the wall. I requested a soap and it was delivered quickly. Other good points were that bed was really comfortable and the room was easily fully darkened to facilitate good sleep. The location is in pretty grounds although there is not much “castle” like about the buildings. The breakfast was very good in a nice dining room. Before leaving, I had a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. That did not stop the cleaner from walking right in, unannounced. Luckily, I was just packing but it could have been embarrassing for us both!

Just checked out of Dunboyne Castle. Fantastic weekend, with Friends.. Saturday night Oliver Plunketts Gala was the Best night ever, thanks to their AMAZING Staff, who could not do enough for our group. The Spa is an exceptionally Beautiful place to spend few hours. Spotless clean, facilities the highest grade facilities, Restaurant excellent food and Wine menus. Sunday's afternoon tea was 100%, NIAMH in Reception was just so friendly helpful and charming. Will definitely be returning to Dunboyne Castle and will highly recommend to Famiy and friends. Hopefully Niamh will be on Duty with her Beautiful smile.
