Dunaszentmiklós is a tiny village in the western side of the Gerecse Mountains, where the descendants of German settlers live, who immigrated here in the 18th century. They have kept their traditions till today and still wear folk costumes on days of certain feasts. During the last years more houses have been bought by Austrian, German and Dutch citizens. It is very much worth to leave the cycle path „Eurovelo 6” and try some of the local dishes and wines. The village is part of the historical Ászár-neszmély wine region. Here operates one of the most known Wineries of the country, that sells yearly more than 1 million bottles of wine. It is advisable to visit the local wine cellars too, where you can taste the fresh wines and see more than 200 years old vine presses. The accommodation will be offered in a comfortable farmhouse with roof-beams, made of adobe, but the possibility to set up a tent is also given.
