Was a very nice room and a cozy vibe

Wonderful place to be located so close to everything. Our room was clean, roomy and wonderful views. The outdoor hot tub was a win! Was wonderful to sit out there and watch the boats and see the lift bridge go up. The Silos was an excellent restaurant also. We will definitely be back. Beautiful grounds!

I booked a room for over $500 per night for 4 nights. I always use ******* for the breakfast perks and for points. My air conditioning unit, sounded like a lawn mower the whole time. It was cool out so i did my best to sleep with it off. It went out on day 3, maintenance was very helpful. He noted how hot it was on here and that they didn't have another unit and the unit needed to be replaced. I spoke to the manager on duty, who informed me that they were sold out of my room type and they could only down grade me since i used ******* to book. This was also the reason why she told me i couldn't get any type of compensation. I was also told they don't know when my downgraded room will be ready. I'm up here for an event with my daughter in an hour that i have nowhere reasonable to get ready in. In addition to this, this morning i tried to use the outdoor jacuzzi and the number 7 was broken and i couldn't get into that and use it. On my first night, i had to ask 3 times and sat outside good almost 2 hours waiting for someone to light the fire on the deck. I also noticed and took pictires of how beat up my room was. This room cost me almost $500 per night and i was treated like a peasant food using *******. I absolutely will not be coming back here. I always loved it here, and i will not return I may not even stay today.

We’ve stayed here a few years in a row now and have loved it. Unfortunately, it seems to be losing its spark. The staff simply do not care. A few times we were on an elevator and a staff member joined us. They completely ignored us. Front desk staff is more interested in showing each other tik toks than saying hello as guests are present. I truly think it wouldn’t take much for a big improvement. Teach your employees to acknowledge guests as you cross paths in the hotel -even just a simple greeting. Evening s’mores are fun, but the sticks are all left around the courtyard dirty. Again, have a staff member walk outside occasionally to clean them and return to the bucket in the lobby for others to use. Having beautiful spaces, but not supporting the operations is sure to fail. Employees need to support the daily operations. The bathrooms are so bad, of the light is on, the whole room is awake because of the window in the barn door. The shower has half a glass wall, so anything in the bathroom gets wet and you are cold. Restaurant never has room, but they do warn of that, and suggest advanced reservations, in an email sent to you a few days before check in. When there is an event in the park, they close the bridge that takes you to Canal Park. That is a huge annoyance when you’re coming and going. The hotel is beautiful and has great potential. I hope management cares enough to make improvements, and not just count on keeping the status quo.

The staff at Pier B are top notch. Loved staying there - rooms are great, views terrific. But what prompted me to write this review was the above and beyond service. I accidentally left my wallet and jewelry in a drawer - had an early morning flight and had my drivers license with me but left everything else. When I landed in Chicago and realized what happened, I frantically called the front desk. The woman there was on it immediately, tried to go to the room with housekeeping but there was already another guest there with a do not disturb sign. She kept me informed with phone calls and texts until they were able to access the room, found my belongings and shipped overnight with fedex. She even followed up to make sure I got everything safely, which I did. Absolutely first-class customer service!
