Days Inn by Wyndham Kings Dominion/Doswell

I stayed at Days Inn by Wyndham Kings Dominion/Doswell from Saturday, 6/21/25, to Sunday, 6/22/25. Prior to my arrival at Days Inn I called ahead to check to confirm they were open. I had received word from my step son that Kings Dominion was closed due to a broken water main pipe. My step son said the water main break may have affected the local businesses in the Doswell area. (My step son and step daughter along with their 3 children and a spouse were staying at the KOA campground at Kings Dominion.) The MOD who answered my call on Saturday said they had running water and the pool was open. He said they had bottled water available at the desk. He was Indian and I didn't get his name. When I arrived a large black man from Jamaica checked us in. He didn't mention anything about the water issue. I am not certain he even knew whether he was aware of the requirement to boil any drinking water. We took our room pass and went to the room they had for me and my partner. Upon entering the room we both smelled a strong odor of cigarette smoke. I went back to the reception desk and told him I needed a different room. I also asked whether we could have some bottled water and he provided us some water and a new room. The next room was better. However, the state of the grounds was not clean nor safe. I took pictures of the exposed rebar at the place where I was parked near my room. We were fortunate we saw the exposed rebar next to our car in the daylight, otherwise, it could have caused us major injury and need for medical attention had we even tripped and been scraped by the rusting metal in the late evening hours. The outside area around our room and leading to the pool was littered with debris and what appeared to be lint from the dryers. Total lack of cleanliness outside and very poor maintenance. I did notice that all the ice machines were marked as being "out of order". What I didn't know was that the ice machines may have been turned off due to the "boil water" advisory in effect that day. We went to the KOA campground. Upon arrival at our families' cabin, I found big yellow signs posted on each cabin door. The signs warned us the campers that there was an advisory in effect to boil water. It further said to not drink water or use it to make coffee... brush teeth, or bathe infants. I wasn't given any notice of this water advisory upon arrival at the Days Inn by Wyndham. My partner and I had even brushed out teeth and drank water from the sink in the room before going to the KOA campground. On Sunday morning while checking out I brought this matter to the woman at the front desk. She said there was a sign posted in the front of the reception entrance. Honestly, I wouldn't have noticed it because I entered the reception area from a side door where no sign was posted. The actual water advisory was clearly several feet from the front entrance to the reception area. It was put up in a way that most people would not have even

Breakfast was awful, 4am i had to ask other residents to get away from our door and quieten down, pool was open unt 2am but closed at 8am? How are we serving breakfast from yesterday and no silverware either?
